Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market and City Hall Christmas Carousel Return!
Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market and City Hall Christmas Carousel Return!
The Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market will once again return to Dilworth Park from Saturday, November 21, 2020 to January 1, 2021 with all new safety precautions. Dozens of artisans, designers and small businesses from the greater Philadelphia region will offer decorations, fashions and gifts inside white, festively lit tents.
Visitors will be required to social distance and wear masks while shopping for their loved ones. Vendors will be spaced out in a new layout – that will be located adjacent to the City Hall Courtyard, where the dazzling holiday Christmas Village Philadelphia Carousel will be located. The Market and Carousel will be joined by Christmas Village vendors in the Courtyard and North Apron. The open-air pop-up market is curated by organizers of Christmas Village in Philadelphia, which will also be set up across the street in LOVE Park for its 13th season. Admission to the Market is free, with Carousel rides $3.00 each.
In accordance with city and state guidelines, the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market will return for the holiday season and feature a reduced number of vendors. All vendors will be spaced out throughout the park, and set-up at least ten feet apart from each other to allow for proper social distancing while shopping. Signage will remind shoppers of all precautions including frequent hand sanitizing, the necessity of face coverings, and social distancing six feet or more from other shoppers and visitors. Many vendors will offer contactless ways to shop and check-out. Guests that feel sick or have been in contact with a sick person are required to stay home.
Next to the Made in Philadelphia Market, the dazzling Christmas Village Carousel will again bring joy to children of all ages inside the City Hall Courtyard. The whimsical and festively decorated carousel with white horses and reindeers for seats became a new holiday tradition over the last five years and organizers are excited to light up the center of City Hall during these challenging times. As an added bonus, Christmas Village will bring back additional vendors set up in a socially distanced way around the courtyard to compliment the carousel. Carousel operators will follow state and city guidelines and take all necessary precautions in response to COVID-19 including less carousel seats, a crowd-controlled waiting line allowing proper social distancing and a strict cleaning protocol. All rides will be $3.00 each.
At the markets, visitors will have the unique chance to shop gifts and products that can’t be found at a usual shopping mall – including artwork, home goods, ornaments, toys, apparel, jewelry, decorations and more. While Christmas Village spotlights gifts and unique finds from around the globe, the charming Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market gives attention to local vendors from the tri-state area (Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware). The Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market is just one of the many winter attractions at Dilworth Park, which include the Wintergarden on the Greenfield Lawn, the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink and Rothman Orthopaedics Cabin as part of Center City’s socially distanced holiday festivities. Admission to the Market is free with shopping pay-as-you-go.
With the changes in the overall layout, weekday visits are strongly encouraged to avoid weekend crowds and waiting.
