Widely regarded as the fastest growing sport in America, the pickleball craze has been sweeping the country.  Perhaps you’re already hooked or maybe you just want to see what the hype is about.

Well now you’ll get a chance because from September 7th through October 21st, Dilworth Park in Center City will have two professional PickleRoll pickleball courts available for rent.

The courts are made possible through a partnership between New York-based CityPickle and Center City District of Philadelphia.

Philly is CityPickle’s first expansion outside of New York City, where the brand recently partnered with Wollman Rink in Central Park to operate the largest pickleball installation in the Northeast with 14 courts and 196 hours of pickleball a day. CityPickle has also been activated at other notable destinations including Hudson Yards, TWA Hotel at JFK Airport and Union Square. CityPickle will open NYC’s first indoor, permanent pickleball club in Long Island City in September.

CityPickle at Dilworth Park will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. depending on weather. One-hour court reservations are available for $40 per court for up to six people through the CityPickle app or by visiting City-Pickle.com. CityPickle custom paddles are available to rent for $6 per paddle, or players are welcome to bring their own.

“Introducing CityPickle to Philadelphia is a milestone moment for us, especially since it marks our first move to another city since launching in New York,” said CityPickle Co-Founders Mary Cannon and Erica Desai. “It’s our goal to bring the joy of pickleball to cities across the U.S., and we could not think of a better place than Philadelphia, which we both personally love, to kickstart our expansion.”

“We’re pleased to be partnering with CityPickle to bring this popular sport to Dilworth Park this fall,” said Center City District President Paul R. Levy. “These are CityPickle’s first courts outside of New York City and they build on our success with the ice rink, roller rink and fountains in providing more attractions for residents and workers to join with friends and colleagues. They are part of a broader effort to activate office plazas this fall to support the return to work and play downtown.”
