Hey Plant Moms & Dads, PHS Pop-Up Beer Garden on South Street is Hosting a Plant Swap
As you may have seen we recently announced the re-openings of the PHS Pop-Up Beer Gardens. It looks like the South Street location at 1438 South St. is wasting no time getting the events going.
On Tuesday April 5th from 6- 8pm, the PHS South Street Pop-Up will be hosting a plant swap. PHS Plant Swaps are a free, family-friendly event. Bring plants, plant cuttings, or any garden-related items (i.e., books, tools, vegetables from your garden, etc.), then come to our garden to swap and meet new plant enthusiasts. It’s a one-for-one exchange; if you bring five items, you’ll go home with five new items.
PHS will also have plant experts on hand to help identify unknown plants, plant society guests with demonstration specimens, and seasonal plant favorites.
Guests can enjoy a variety of food and drinks for sale including drive-in nachos with green chili queso, guacamole and chips, and sidewinder fries. For a more substantial bite, indulge in a caprese melt, vegan garden wrap, or a vegan Impossible cheeseburger. The South Street Pop Up Garden will also offer several specialty cocktails including the Cucumber Countryside made with Bombay Gin, mint, agave, and cucumber, a Pink Peppercorn Paloma with Lunazul Blanco tequila, pink grapefruit, pink peppercorn, and lime, and a Garden Sangria made with red wine, fresh orange juice, and seasonal fruits.
Specialty frozen cocktails will include Adult Water Ice featuring New Amsterdam’s Pink Whitney vodka and lemon and the frozen Mojito with Single Prop rum mint, lime and butterfly pea flower.
Although this event is free to attend, pre-registering is highly encouraged. By pre-registering, you are automatically entered to win a special plant, courtesy of Solo Real Estate that will be announced and given out at the start of the swap. Registration is available at PHSoinline.org.
