Four Time Burger Brawl Champs, Lucky’s Last Chance is Opening the “Sunshine Sandwich Shop”
Four time Burger Brawl champs and all-around amazing food makers Lucky’s Last Chance are opening a new sandwich shop dubbed “Sunshine Sandwich Shop” that will be located at Lucky’s Last Chance Co. (5154 Ridge Ave.) and will feature a slew of new mouth watering sandwiches.
“We own Lucky’s Last Chance and we love it, but we’ve been playing with cheesesteaks and sandwiches for years and finally decided it was time to try something new and to do it in our own backyard! Our new space, Lucky’s Trading Company, was created as a home for us for fun projects, pop ups, test kitchen ideas, etc. both for us and some friends. It is already home to Lucky’s Roadside Stand which is a take out version of Lucky’s Last Chance. Now we have a brand new sandwich shop as well, and we’re probably not done just yet,” states co-owner Chris Barnes.
The name, Sunshine Sandwich shop was picked because they wanted to go something fun yet vintage and give a nod to that early 70’s southern California vibe. The shop will primarily operate as a takeout spot but has room to seat up to 12.
So what can guests expect? “Classic sandwiches but done as well as we can make them with fresh product and some subtle changes. You won’t find any ingredients you aren’t familiar with or can’t spell, except maybe tzatziki,” Chris states jokingly. “We make most of our stuff from scratch but whatever we can’t make ourselves we find the best people we can to help us out including breads from Merzbacher’s, Le Bus & Liscio’s. We source our fresh meat from Carl Venezia and cured meats from Boar’s Head. Hopefully the customers see the work we put into each bite and appreciate it the way we do,” adds Chris.
The Sunshine Sandwich Stop will be open Wednesday-Sunday 11 am to 5 pm. See menu below:
