Forget Bar Crawls, Have You Ever Been on a Book Crawl? The South Philly Book Crawl is Taking Place This Weekend
If you enjoy history, a nice stroll, and books then you may want to check out The South Philly Book Crawl happening August 3rd and 4th. Organized by Pier Players Theatre Company, the crawl will make stops at several bookstores along the South Street corridor and will double as a history tour.
Each tour starts at 12 pm and guests will get to enjoy stories about notable literary figures “who trod these same cobblestones, and learn fun facts about the bookstores you’ll be browsing.” Led by veteran tour guide Julianne Kastner of Pier Players, attendees will also get a chance to peruse stores and discover some literary treasures in the process.
This book crawl is also a fundraiser for the upcoming Pier Players 2024 season. All proceeds will support our theater company; anything you buy along the book crawl will directly support the bookstores themselves. This is a great way to support the arts, small businesses, meet fellow bookworms, as well as find a great book in the process. Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased here.
