SUMMARY:Sexyy Red 4 President Tour
DESCRIPTION:Sexyy Red is bringing her highly anticipated ‘Sexyy Red 4 President’ Tour to The Liacouras Center on September 20th! \nWith explicit lyricism reminiscent of Trina\, the raw storytelling of Boosie Badazz and Webbie\, and Chief Keef’s rugged authenticity\, Sexyy Red’s raunchy\, in-your-face style taps into a strain of hilarious and animated rap the game has been missing since the heyday of Gucci Mane. But don’t get it twisted – as the main creative force of her own songs\, lyrics\, and videos\, her music is only ever 100% Sexyy.

SUMMARY:Boston Best Blues Bands Swarm Pennsylvania
DESCRIPTION:Two of Boston’s Finest Blues Bands play Jamey’s House of Music \nWHAT: Bees Deluxe & One Dime Band – a double-bill!\nWHERE: Jamey’s House of Music\, 32 S. Lansdowne Ave\, Lansdowne\, PA\nWHEN: Saturday September 21st\nCONTACT: Carol Band (617) 930 2067\nTICKETS: jameyshouseofmusic.com \nLANDSDOWNE\, PA\, SEPT 21: Two of the Northeast’s most engaging blues bands trek from Boston to Philly to perform at the legendary Jamey’s House of Music on Saturday\, September 21st. Bees Deluxe\, whose repertoire bends the blues genre and infuses it with jazz and funk and the award-winning One Dime Band share the stage and contrast their distinct approaches to modern blues in this not-to-be-missed show. \n“We love to catch up with Bees Deluxe whenever they pass thru Philly\,” says Jamey Reilly\, owner of the legendary venue. “Now\, with the One Dime Band joining the bill\, we’re bracing for a Boston Blues tsunami!” \nBees Deluxe\, the British-American acid blues band\, tour from Maine to Miami and have been frequent performers at Jamey’s House of Music. Incorporating their own compositions with re-imagined arrangements of classic songs by such artists as Etta James\, Albert Collins\, Robert Cray and Billie Holiday\, the band has performed alongside Ronnie Earl\, Joanne Shaw Taylor\, Mike Zito\, Walter Trout\, Joanna Connor\, Matt Schofield\, and Roomful of Blues. John Kereiff of The Rock Doctors Hot Wax Album Reviews described their latest album “Hallucinate” as “This is what Steely Dan would sound like if they played the blues.” Fresh\, distinct and highly musical\, Bees Deluxe is on a mission to bring the blues into the 21st century. \nOne Dime Band won the 2022 Boston Blues Challenge solo/duo act and the New Hampshire 2023 Granite State Blues Society Challenge. The duo also competed in Memphis at the semi-finals of the International Blues Challenge in January of 2024. The band\, John Brauchler and Paul Gallucci\, began as an acoustic duo when they were both still in high school\, and have crafted their sound and songwriting prowess by blending elements of blues\, R & B and soul. Their music continues to evolve and in June of 2017\, they released “Gonna Take Sweet Time\,” an album of all-original tunes on their own label Toneblanket Records. Their album\, “Hoodoo & Holy Water” was released in 2020 to critical acclaim\, and included in the Blues Music Fan Radio’s Top 20 albums of the year and made Metronome Magazine’s Top 20 list of 2020. Their latest album “Side Hustle” features guest appearances by Paul Kochanski\, Johnny Blue Horn\, Mario Perrett\, Ilana Katz Katz\, Robin Hathaway\, Holly Harris\, and Romeo Dubois. \nDon’t miss this extraordinary one-off\, double-the-blues bill in an amazing music listening venue\, Jamey’s House of Music. SUMMARY:Jamey's House of Music Presents Blues & the Resurrection of Screamin' Jay Hawkins\, "I Put A Spell On You"
DESCRIPTION:Forget about zombies! With the Resurrection of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins Band\, the man who invented shock-rock is back and he is gonna put a spell on you. Don’t miss the most exciting stage act since Screamin’ Jay Hawkins first emerged from a coffin. – Steve Bergsman\, author of I Put a Spell on You: The Bizarre Life of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. \nFrom somebody who got to see Screamin’ Jay Hawkins himself\, The Resurrection of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins Band is practically the real thing\, and a must to witness. The Resurrection of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins Band is doing their part in Saving American Music.\n– Arnie Goodman\, Elmore Magazine \nThe Resurrection of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins Band performs live shows taking you back in time to the music of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. This project is comprised of extremely talented and seasoned musicians. Mike Armando was the original guitarist for Screamin’ Jay Hawkins back in the 1970’s. Another reason this project is exciting. The band is not just performing the music of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins but creating a time machine of one of rock’s true wild men. A show you will surely remember for many years. \nScreamin’ Jay Hawkins released “I Put a Spell On You” in 1956. The song\, that never made it to the charts when it was released\, would eventually be covered several hundred times by the likes of Nina Simone\, Credence Clearwater Revival\, and Marilyn Manson; Jeff Beck and Joss Stone’s version even received a Grammy nomination in 2010. It was selected as one of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll and was added to Rolling Stones’ list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. \nHawkins’ music and outlandish onstage persona inspired generations of musicians after him. And yet\, little is known of the man and little can be taken at face value. Hawkins interpreted his past with a poetic license to kill\, a magical amalgam of his own making—creating disparate stories alternatively terrible or sympathetic at his will.

SUMMARY:Curtis Symphony Orchestra: Yannick Leads Mahler & Dawson
DESCRIPTION:Echoes of Legacy in Symphony and Song. \nJoin Curtis Symphony Orchestra and Grammy award winner Yannick Nézet-Séguin for an evening of powerful musical storytelling. The program features William L. Dawson’s Negro Folk Symphony\, a groundbreaking 1934 masterpiece that blends African American spirituals with classical symphonic traditions. Premiered by Leopold Stokowski and The Philadelphia Orchestra\, the work is celebrated for its stirring melodies and rhythmic vitality. \nAlso featured is the sweeping drama of Richard Wagner’s Rienzi Overture\, led by Yoann Combémorel\, Rita E.
