FREE! \nOur fourth annual Under The Stars festival kicks off Memorial Day weekend with weekly screenings in West Philly’s Clark Park through June. \nThe 2024 film lineup:\n—May 24: Butterfly in the Sky with The ABCs of Book Banning *Philadelphia Premiere* Attend Under the Stars opening night\, with films focusing on the magic of young people reading. Butterfly in the Sky documents the power of PBS’s Reading Rainbow program\, its iconic host LeVar Burton\, and the challenges he faced in cultivating a love of reading through television. Preceding the film is the Academy Award-nominated short film The ABCs of Book Banning\, which tackles how recent book banning efforts across the country are negatively impacting youth. \n—May 31: Summer Qamp *Pride Eve* *Philadelphia Premiere* Kick off Pride Month with this Pride Eve screening of Summer Qamp\, a celebration of queer youth at camp fYrefly\, a haven for LGBTQIA2S+ teens buried within the woods of Alberta\, Canada. \n—June 7: Belle (2022) *ICYMI* *Cosplay Night* Belle\, a fantastical\, heartfelt story of growing up in the age of social media\, is a stunningly animated adaptation of a tale as old as time \n—June 14: OkThanksBye with Makayla’s Voice: A Letter to the World *Philadelphia Premieres* Attend Under the Stars 2024 closing night\, with films celebrating the stories of young people with disabilities. \nEvent Flow:\n7 PM: DJs\n9 PM: Films
