DESCRIPTION:Jamar Nicholas is an award-winning\, Philadelphia-based artist and educator\, dedicating his career to helping young people realize the power of visual narrative. Jamar’s current project Leon the Extraordinary (Scholastic) is the first graphic novel in his series featuring Leon and his friends\, Carlos and Clementine. The second book will be published in fall 2024. \nThere will be a short artist talk about creative process and the story behind Leon\, sustaining your artistic practice and how to get a graphic novel published. There will also be an opportunity for audience members to ask questions.
