DESCRIPTION:This is a free and public opening reception for the Generative Clothing Designs (GCD) Exhibition. \nLocation: McCabe Library @ Swarthmore College \nTime: Thursday\, April 3rd\, 5:30pm – 7:30pm \nThe opening reception will include: \n– Fifty artworks on display\n– Short presentations by the artists\n– Light refreshments and snacks \nMore Information: The Generative Clothing Designs (GCD) project seeks to bring together artists and programmers to create algorithmically generated clothing designs through a user-friendly online platform. In this exhibition\, we tell the story of the GCD project which includes the Swarthmore students\, alumni\, and external collaborators who helped make this possible. Over fifty artworks will be on display taking various forms including shirts\, hats\, bags\, and other accessories. DESCRIPTION:Philadelphia-based artist Eustace Mamba uses painting\, street photography\, collaging\, and sewing to build up rich\, multi-layered artworks. These pieces touch on community history\, collective struggles\, and stories from Mamba’s own life. Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens will be creating multimedia collages inspired by our lives and the current exhibition Stone Soup: Works by Eustace Mamba. Mamba will be here to answer questions and offer tips for crafting masterpieces you can take home. \nDiscover true stories embedded in the mosaics at PMG during free tours of fully mosaicked basement at 12:30\, 1:30\, 2:30\, and 3:30 p.m. PECO Family Jams are PMG’s family-oriented programs\, held on the second Sunday of every month between noon and 4:00 p.m. Crafts and basement tours are included with regular admission to PMG.
