SUMMARY:The Philly Vintage Flea
DESCRIPTION:PVF is a highly curated vintage market with top vendors\, live experiences\, food\, art\, chain stitching\, and surprises built for the city. \n\n\n\n\nTHE PHILLY VINTAGE FLEA IS FINALLY IN PHILLY! \nAfter years of hearing it… we finally did it. \nPhilly Vintage Flea is coming to Philadelphia city limits for the first time ever. \nBut this isn’t just another vintage market. \nWe’re building a day around the things that made us fall in love with vintage in the first place: discovery\, community\, stories\, collecting\, style\, and being surrounded by people who care way too much about details. \nExpect a highly curated lineup of vintage vendors bringing store-sized collections across decades. Not random leftovers. Not racks filled the night before. Real curation from people who live this. \nFrom Y2K to true vintage\, sportswear to designer\, denim to tees\, womenswear and menswear. \nAnd this one goes beyond shopping. \nExperiences announced so far:\n✷ Collectors & Connoisseurs Vol 3. (Polo Ralph Lauren Section)\nA dedicated section of the best Polo Ralph Lauren collectors from around the world coming together for the community to sell\, discuss\, and showcase the rarest vintage Ralph Lauren there is. \n✷ Live Mystery Draft presented by @RareVNTG\nA live\, sports-draft-style experience where every pick reveals a mystery vintage item in real time. \n✷ Vintage ECW Apparel Showcase\nAn art gallery style display of vintage ECW Wrestling clothing. This venue was ECW’s home venue\, it’s only right to honor that legacy. \n✷ Womenswear Alley\nA dedicated section featuring some of the strongest women’s vintage vendors around. Think Y2K icons\, 90s energy\, 70s classics\, and deep collections. \n✷ Live Chain Stitching\nBring something home personalized on site. \n✷ Live Tattooing presented by @heartofgoldtattooclub\nBecause why stop at buying vintage? \n✷ Philly Artist Showcase + Sale featuring @customsbynell\nLocal artists\, original work\, and a chance to support creatives from the city. \n✷ Rare Collection Showcase\nPieces you may never see again. \n✷ Trade Pit\nMeet people. Trade pieces. Talk vintage. \n✷ Food + Bar \nThis one’s going to be special. \nFREE ENTRY! \nEarly Bird Tickets are available now and will be especially important for this event. \nBecause of occupancy limits at this venue\, Early Bird tickets will be very limited. If the venue reaches capacity\, General Admission entry may become one in\, one out until space opens. \nEarly Bird guarantees entry\, gets you in 2 hours early at 10:00AM\, and includes additional perks to be announced. \nThe next Philly Vintage Flea is truly a community experience. \nThis one’s for the city.

SUMMARY:Remembered Objects in Paper Mache (Spring 2)
DESCRIPTION:Class Description:\nHave you ever lost something special or maybe something special has lost its use? Your best winter hat? Your favorite VHS tape? We’re going to reference our own mental images of our remembered objects as we recreate them in paper mache. \nThis will be fun and fairly easy for all skill levels\, with a few challenging moments. Ages 5-105 would be able to handle this medium. \nStudents will sculpt a generalized form in 3 dimensions. They will mix color using acrylic paint and use 2-D color\, line and shape to define and characterize the generalized 3-D form. \nStudents will gain a sculpture that stands in for a lost object. \nTeacher Info:\nBorn 1984 in New York\, NY\, Sophie White lives and works in Philadelphia\, PA. Since adolescence in a rapidly transforming NYC at the turn of the millennium\, she has made small\, cityscape paintings from observation of familiar places at various stages of becoming unfamiliar. Colorful sculptures and experimental sound and performance work sometimes accompany her paintings\, mimicking the environment in which they were made. She holds an MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and a BFA from the Cooper Union School of Art. In 2025 she was the subject of a solo exhibit at the Philadelphia International Airport\, participated in 11 group exhibitions in Philadelphia and New York and was a nominee for the Pew Fellowship. \nInstagram – @sophie6598\nWebsite – SophieCWhite.com
