SUMMARY:Murder Most Felt; or\, It's Not Easy Bleeding Green
DESCRIPTION:Show synopsis:\nIt is a dark and stormy night and veteran detective Jack Russell is murdered at his own retirement party. Among those in attendance: his amphibian butler\, a no-nonsense police inspector\, his aquatic archenemy\, an incomprehensible chef\, a reanimated corpse\, and… … 8th President Martin Van Buren? Using nothing but their wits\, ragdoll physics\, and just a bit of audience participation\, it is up to this eclectic band of familiar but legally distinct puppets to figure out which one of them is a killer before they strike again

SUMMARY:Offstage Onstage: Everything You Didn’t See The Greeks Do
DESCRIPTION:PHILADELPHIA\, PA: Offstage Onstage: Everything You Didn’t See The Greeks Do will be presented at Cannonball Festival at Asian Arts Initiative Black Box Theater (1219 Vine St) for five performances only.  \nFor the first time ever at Haverford Middle School\, three students interrogate all of the action that traditionally took place offstage in Ancient Greek tragedy: Oedipus stabbing his eyes out after hearing the truth that he murdered his father and married his mother\, Medea killing her children to get revenge on her husband Jason\, and the women of Thebes tearing Pentheus apart after being driven mad by Dionysus. The young theatre historians hop in and out of the different characters and stories of the Greeks to win the praise of their English teacher–Mr. Moscow. As they delve deeper and deeper into exploring these unthinkable acts\, however\, they confront the challenges of their own lives in and outside of school – fashion malfunctions\, bullying\, and\, at its worst\, the fear of gun violence. True to the little ghost party form\, much of the play is performed on a tiny stage. \nIf Pen15 and The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged) had a baby about Greek tragedy.

SUMMARY:Curators in Conversation: Revisiting the Story of the Revolution
DESCRIPTION:Join curators Bill Ewald and David Brigham for a gallery talk conversation that revisits the American Revolution through the exhibition Paths to Independence. Moving beyond a simple Patriot versus Loyalist framework\, they explore how revolutionary ideals intersected with the practical realities of war—provisioning\, militias\, governance\, and daily decision‑making. This discussion opens the story wider\, asking how curators can reintroduce historical complexity and include many voices in telling the nation’s founding moment. SUMMARY:Priority Hoarding: A Retrospectacle
DESCRIPTION:“Where our baggage is yours!” \nWelcome to the Bearded Ladies’ Hairport\, an interactive installation & performance series built on 16-years of accumulated baggage from a queer cabaret company devoted to art\, care\, mess\, and community. While you’re waiting for a flight that may never take off\, unpack your baggage and rifle through some of ours. You may recognize something as your own\, or find something you never knew you were carrying. \nMade for anyone who has ever lost a bag\, gotten stuck\, or missed a (metaphoric) flight\, this trans(formational) installation asks: how do you know it’s time to move on when you don’t know where you’re going? \nProduced by The Bearded Ladies Cabaret\nPart of FringeArt’s 2026 Festival & Collective Futures \nInstallation on view September 10-December 20\, 2026\nat The Hairport | 444 N 3rd Street\, Philadelphia PA 19123 \nInstallation hours:\nWednesday\, Thursday & Friday 4-9PM | Last timed entry at 8:15PM\nSaturday & Sunday 11AM-3PM| Last timed entry at 2:15PM \nLive events at The Hairport | Saturdays at 8PM \nThe Hairport is an interactive\, immersive installation filled with costumes\, cardboard props\, and other ephemera from the Bearded Ladies Cabaret’s 16-year performance history. Visitors will make their way through a sprawling multi-room space made to look like a fantastical\, metaphorical “airport”. Visitors will be invited to interact with components of the installation and may encounter docents in guiding roles. The experience will culminate in a “lounge” space full of “Bearded baggage” which will also serve as the performance site for the Now Hoarding: In-Flight Entertainment live event series. \nIt will take visitors approximately 60-75 minutes to view the entirety of the Priority Hoarding installation. Groups of 6 will enter the installation\, at 15-minute timed entry intervals. An opportunity to ride a Surrey bike is offered but not required.

SUMMARY:Artist Talk With Gemma Correll (AnxietyLand)
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Thursday\, September 10th at 7pm for an artist talk with Correll where she will share her creative process for drawing\, organizing and producing her bestselling graphic novel\, Anxietyland. \nIn 2018\, Gemma Correll had a panic attack that lasted for weeks on end. Unable to do much more than walk aimlessly through the streets of Berkeley\, Correll admitted herself to the hospital to reckon with The Bad Feeling that had been her companion since she was a child. \nWith her ingenious and charming illustrations “bursting with personality…peppered with witty asides” (Publishers Weekly)\, Correll leads readers through the amusement park in her own mind—featuring severe anxiety\, depression\, agoraphobia\, and dissociation—a frightening and darkly funny world that “feels like a place apart from ‘real’ life.” \nA hilarious thrill ride exploring the mysteries of the mind-body connection\, Gemma Correll’s graphic memoir is shot through with the absurd knowledge that there is no linear way through Anxietyland\, nor any cure-alls—but there are ways to feel better if you keep trying to move forward. \n***This event is free and open to the public\, but space is limited. Books will be available for purchase and signing by Gemma Correll. ***
