SUMMARY:Murder Most Felt; or\, It's Not Easy Bleeding Green
DESCRIPTION:Show synopsis:\nIt is a dark and stormy night and veteran detective Jack Russell is murdered at his own retirement party. Among those in attendance: his amphibian butler\, a no-nonsense police inspector\, his aquatic archenemy\, an incomprehensible chef\, a reanimated corpse\, and… … 8th President Martin Van Buren? Using nothing but their wits\, ragdoll physics\, and just a bit of audience participation\, it is up to this eclectic band of familiar but legally distinct puppets to figure out which one of them is a killer before they strike again

SUMMARY:Betsy Ross Groundhog Day
DESCRIPTION:BRGD is a historical fiction dramedy following Betsy Ross stuck in a time loop. Betsy is trapped in the prison of colonial America\, perpetually locked into the year between making the American flag and her wedding night. SUMMARY:Edgar Allan Poe Classic Reimagined through Physical Theatre at Cannonball Festival
DESCRIPTION:PHILADELPHIA\, PA: LIGEIA by Edgar Allan Poe will be presented in the Cannonball Festival\, part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival\, at Asian Arts Initiative (1219 Vine St). This intimate physical theatre adaptation of the gothic masterpiece will run September 16-19. \nObsession for the lost LIGEIA spirals into madness in Poe’s haunting tale of unutterable grief and unimaginable terror. As chilling evidence of a supernatural presence mounts\, the audience wonders: are the narrator’s visions caused by opium\, or has his wife’s corpse been possessed? \nRather than dramatizing the events of the plot\, LIGEIA emphasizes the physical action of storytelling itself. Remaining faithful to Poe’s original text\, solo-performer William Trevino weaves poetic language with his decades of martial arts practice to create a visceral atmosphere of suspense. A 6th degree black belt in Soo Bahk Do and a veteran Poe performer\, Trevino transforms martial arts movement to embody the psychological struggles of Poe’s narrator. \n“I think of Poe’s language as a complex musical score\,” says Trevino. “My martial arts choreography doesn’t illustrate the story\, it dances to it.” \nWilliam Trevino’s work devising theatre from martial arts has been presented in NYC (including at Dixon Place and HERE Arts Center) with support from the Jerome Foundation and the Queens Arts Fund. His Poe performances have ranged from presenting The Tell-Tale Heart at the Edgar Allan Poe House & Museum in Baltimore\, to hosting the television series Gothic Tales on Manhattan Neighborhood Network/MNN. \nLIGEIA by Edgar Allan Poe will be presented on September 16 (9:00 PM)\, 17 (6:00 PM)\, and 19 (3:30 PM) at Asian Arts Initiative (1219 Vine St\, Philadelphia\, PA 19107) as part of Cannonball\, a presenting hub of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. General Admission is $25\, with PWYC (pay what you can) tickets available. SUMMARY:71st Annual Hero Thrill Show
DESCRIPTION:Rev up for cool wheels and a hot show: There’ll be a whole lot of cool rubber burning and hot wheels churning at the 71st Annual Hero Thrill Show\, a day of fun\, tribute and tradition in the parking area of the xfinity mobile Arena (formerly the Wells Fargo Center) in South Philadelphia on Saturday September 19\, 2026. Enjoy boardwalk-style food\, fire truck rides\, daredevil\, police motorcycle stunts\, K-9 unit dogs on rescue attacks\, fire-rescue exercises 40-foot in the air\, and more. The event kicks off with a grand entrance featuring a motorcade of police\, fire and Hero Thrill Show vehicles and formal speeches by City of Philadelphia dignitaries.
