DESCRIPTION:Experience one of the leading guitar voices of her generation — Kasia Smolarek — in a program of fiery virtuosity and soulful beauty. \nDespite her young age\, Kasia has already established herself on international stages as a remarkable artist and virtuoso. Having earned top honors at major competitions\, including the prestigious Pittaluga and Luis Sigall\, she has captivated concert audiences across all continents. \nIn this program\, Kasia leads listeners across centuries and traditions: from intricate textures and ornaments of Rameau and Scarlatti\, to virtuosity and color of Turina\, Tárrega\, and Brouwer. SUMMARY:Who's Your Daddy? Our Founding Fathers Tour
DESCRIPTION:Meet the Men Who Birthed a Nation. \nThink you know the guys on your money? Think again. Join us at Christ Church Burial Ground for a lively dive into the lives of America’s original “Daddies.” Beyond the iconic Benjamin Franklin\, you’ll meet the rebels\, rascals\, and visionaries—like Rush\, Ross\, and Hopkinson—who signed the Declaration and lived to tell the tale (mostly). \nFrom revolutionary medical breakthroughs to the “quirky” habits of the elite\, this isn’t your average dry history lesson. It’s a spirited look at the messy\, inspiring\, and very human stories behind the legacies that shaped a nation.

SUMMARY:Room For Grief
DESCRIPTION:FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE \n[PHILADELPHIA\, PA]— Room For Grief – Living with Loss in America — An immersive and interactive group art show featuring 100+ artists and performers unified by experiences of bereavement. \nIn a country built upon death and loss\, the space to grieve is alarmingly absent. Our society leaves little physical or existential room for us to experience let alone process loss. This project points directly at this omission by making literal Room For Grief – dedicated\, intentional space where these themes are expressed\, witnessed and held in community. \nGuests are invited to walk through the rooms of a house built by grief\, woven together with the art that has helped us survive. Let our robust and diverse group of contributors show you what it is like to live\, heal\, struggle\, cope and offer sanctuary for mourning at a time where the burden of grief in daily life is overwhelming. Join us as we grieve death\, identity\, health\, security\, safety\, freedom\, democracy\, the fulfillment of promises that were made to us generationally. Together we hold up the walls to create Room For Grief.  \n\nRoom for Grief comes alive with an opening reception on June 4th and is laid to rest at the closing reception on June 28th\nThe exhibition will be hosted at the historic Cherry Street Pier along the Delaware River – a beautiful and peaceful place to explore grief and be in community with other grievers\, also mere blocks from Old City and the heart of the semisesquicentennial.\nOur lovingly curated events lineup includes a Death Cafe\, Beyond Loss Film Series\, a performance in The Garden\, spoken word and song performances\, Grief Survival support\, and more!\n\nCall to Action: Join us in the Room for Grief this June. Visit the immersive installation\, meet the artists\, attend a robust lineup of events curated to support\, uplift\, and inspire grievers of all types and from all walks of life. Loss touches each one of us at some point in our lives\, but we must not grieve alone. In community we can create a room for grief and hold the walls up together. Find more information at roomforgrief.org. \nAbout the Room for Grief Team: Curated by Chelsea Dalsey\, with support from C.Sage\, Mandy\, and Sonja Demonia. \nGraphics \nMedia Contact: \nChelsea Dalsey \nCurator \ninfo@roomforgrief.org \nroomforgrief.org \n###

SUMMARY:Profs & Pints Philadelphia: Brain Stories
DESCRIPTION:Profs and Pints Philadelphia presents: “Brain Stories\,” a crash course on the basics of neuroscience interspersed with surprising tales from research in the field\, with Stuart McCaughey\, who teaches courses on neuroanatomy\, neuropharmacology\, and neurological disorders as an assistant professor at the University of Delaware. \nGain insights into how our brains work\, and learn what research tells us about the causes of our behavior and the links between our brains and those of animals\, with brain expert Stuart McCaughey of the University of Delaware. \nUsing an approach that wins him and his courses rave reviews from his university’s students\, Dr. McCaughey will discuss the basic principles of his field and illustrate them by telling remarkable stories related to the history of neuroscience and the workings of the brains of human beings and animals. \nHe’ll start by taking you on a tour of the nervous system\, explaining the functions of its different parts and how various drugs alter neurochemical events. \nWe’ll look at neurological syndromes with bizarre symptoms\, at the results of fascinating science experiments\, and at the unusual effects of psilocybic mushrooms on the brain. \nWe’ll consider some of the many strange questions that have arisen as scientists have pursued their quest to understand how the brain works. Among them: Was the French Revolution triggered by a fungus with psychedelic properties? Does Parkinson’s disease cause a unique body odor? Should you eat your experiments on neural development when you finish collecting data on them? \nYour brain will thank you for bringing it to Philadelphia’s Black Squirrel Club for this talk. (Advance tickets: $13.50 plus processing fees. Doors: $17\, or $15 with a student ID. Doors open at 3:30 pm. Talk starts at 4:30.) \nImage by Canva.

I’m the Brand Strategist for RSVLTS\, an apparel company known for our bold collabs with IPs like Disney\, Star Wars\, Marvel\, and Rocky. \nOn Saturday\, May 30th\, we’re bringing dozens of diehard fans to Philadelphia during Fan Expo weekend to celebrate Rocky’s 50th anniversary at two iconic filming locations: The Rocky Steps and Mighty Mick’s Gym. \nWearing matching Rocky gear – including the famous American flag shorts – our group of 30–50 fans will arrive at the Philadelphia Museum of Art for photos at the Rocky statue\, fun moments at the steps\, and possibly even a few brave souls attempting the iconic run as “Gonna Fly Now” plays. \nFollowing the Rocky Steps moment\, the group heads to Lost Time Brewing Company – the filming location of Mighty Mick’s Gym – for a Rocky-themed party featuring Rocky trivia (custom championship belt for the winner)\, drinks\, props\, prizes\, and a special Dolph Lundgren video message. \nA full day celebrating Rocky\, Philly\, and the RSVLTS fan community – a group that pours its heart and soul into pop culture and nostalgia like Rocky. \nReaching out because it felt like a great fit. Happy to share more details if you’re interested in covering. \nBest\,\nWill (516) 287-7318
