DESCRIPTION:The Friends of Mount Moriah Cemetery invites neighbors and history lovers to join a cleanup day at Mausoleum Hill on the Yeadon side of the cemetery. \nVolunteers will work to restore Mausoleum Hill\, home to some of the cemetery’s most notable structures and the final resting places of people whose lives are woven into the fabric of Philadelphia history. \nPlease bring personal hand tools\, gloves\, and safety gear. We have a limited supply to lend\, so the more you can bring\, the better. Gas-powered weed whackers are especially helpful. Pack a lunch\, water\, sunscreen\, and bug spray. This is a come-and-go event. Show up when you can\, stay as long as you’re able. Anyone is free to help out. Families\, scouts\, and service organizations are encouraged to join. \nMount Moriah has always been a place for the whole community\, and the work of restoring this place starts with neighbors like you. Supplies are provided (or bring your own!) and it’s free to participate. All skill levels welcome whether you draw stick figures or the Mona Lisa! Expect multiple themed rounds\, voting for your favorite artwork\, and prizes for the best drawings! For the kickoff event on April 14\, local artists Kate Glasheen @katiecrimespree and Alex Eckman-Lawn @alexeckmanlawn will be onsite making a large live drawing to inspire you all and your doodling friends. Loosen up and start scribbling!
