SUMMARY:Old Academy Players presents Disenchanted!
DESCRIPTION:Disenchanted! By Dennis T. Giacino\nDirected by Annie Hnatko \nApril 25th\, 26th; May 2nd\, 3rd\, 4th\, 9th\, 10th\, 11th\, 2025\nFriday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m.\, Sunday at 2:00 p.m. \nPoison apples and lost slippers are just the beginning. The original storybook heroines are none-too-happy with the way they’ve been portrayed in today’s pop culture\, so they’ve tossed their tiaras and have come to life to set the record straight. Forget the princesses you think you know — these royal renegades are here to comically belt out the truth. Received an “Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical” nomination (Outer Critics Circle Awards) and a “Best New Off-Broadway Musical” nomination (Off-Broadway Alliance). \nContent Warning: Contains adult language and content.

SUMMARY:The Great Philadelphia Comedy Magic Walking Tour
DESCRIPTION:Something Magical this Way Comes! October is the month of magic in fact the last week of the month is National Magic Week and October 31 is National Magic Day. National Magic Day came about after the death of Harry Houdini who died on that day in 1926. If you are in the mood for magic\, try a unique Philly experience called\, “The Great Philadelphia Comedy Magic Walking Tour”. It is a blend of a walking history tour and a walking magic show\, complete with a seance trick in an alley called “Little Boys Court”\, where the spirits of the dead are contacted. Each historic location inspires a mind-bending magic trick. You will also meet “Mind-a-lugosi”\, a clairvoyant from 200 years ago.

SUMMARY:Crawl Space\, Olivia Faith Harwood
DESCRIPTION:Fuller Rosen Gallery is proud to present Crawl Space\, a new solo exhibition by Olivia Faith Harwood. At the heart of Crawl Space is an ode to the monstrous feminine—a raw and unapologetic dive into the expectations\, fears\, and generational experiences that shape Harwood’s studio practice and selfhood. Her compositional blend of memory based imagery with radiant objects imbues her haunting self-portraits with an eternal depth of mystery and ecstasy. \nJoin us for an opening reception of Crawl Space at Fuller Rosen Gallery on First Friday\, April 04 from 6-9 pm.

SUMMARY:Opening Reception - A Romance in Lower Mathematics - Kelly Dzioba
DESCRIPTION:“A Romance in Lower Mathematics” showcases Kelly Dzioba’s exploration of connection through intricate\, rule-based processes. Inspired by the 1965 animated short The Dot and the Line: A Romance in Lower Mathematics\, Dzioba’s minimalist\, geometric works emerge from repeated gestures — twisting\, knotting\, and connecting materials into cohesive forms. Each piece captures the moment when individual stitches and threads accumulate to create something greater\, evoking a sense of romance and resonance. \nJoin us for the opening reception on April 4 from 5–8 PM and the closing reception on May 2 from 5–8 PM\, with an artist talk at 6:30 PM at both events. Light bites and refreshments will be served.

He’ll discuss how feeling safe and welcomed where you live is a vital part of healthy aging\, and that being an ally is respecting and honoring people who may not be like you and advocating for you when others may not. \nThe panel will be rounded out with LGBTQ+ seniors who will share their stories of resilience. \nIt’s very likely that you know someone who is part of the LGBTQ+ community\, as there are nearly 500\,000 Pennsylvanians identifying as such. We’ll share stories of resilience and provide educational information about allyship\, along with new tools you can use to connect with and build bridges within this community. \nRegistration encouraged but not required.
