DESCRIPTION:Join us at H&H Books on Tuesday 4/15 at 7 PM as we welcome author & editor Jeremy Gordon and musician & poet Sadie Dupuis to discuss Jeremy’s debut novel\, SEE FRIENDSHIP. \nSEE FRIENDSHIP centers on a culture critic named Jacob who becomes obsessed with the idea of producing a podcast in an effort to dodge the layoffs plaguing the digital media industrial complex. He settles on investigating the tragic & mysterious death of his high school classmate\, Seth. HSP’s newest exhibit highlights themes of Black self-determination and leadership from the 1770s onward in the abolition movement of the Mid-Atlantic region. Drawing from the Pennsylvania Abolition Society (PAS) collection and commemorating the 250th anniversary of its founding\, the exhibit refocuses attention on abolition as a global Black-led political movement championed by the PAS. Through an assembly of primary source documents\, dive deeper into the family\, community\, and freedom for future generations that were key drivers for Black abolitionists in the Philadelphia area and beyond. Morgan and Quinones guide visitors through history during this free public event.

Each participant will create three fridge magnets to take home with them\, which on average should take about 20 minutes to complete. Then spend time exploring our outdoor sculpture garden and indoor galleries at your leisure.\nPlease be aware that we will be working in a space that can only be accessed by stairs. All participants older than 2 years must have a ticket to enter the basement. Participants younger than 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult participant. DESCRIPTION:On April 18th\, the ACLU and ACLU of Pennsylvania will host a RuPaul’s Drag Race finale watch party at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia’s rooftop bar Stratus Lounge. Local drag queen\, influencer and previous competitor on the show Ariel Versace will host the event\, providing entertainment and commentary during commercial breaks. Stratus Lounge will offer beverages for sale throughout the show\, while event partners LUSH and La Colombe will be providing complimentary gift bags and fun giveaways. The event will have several opportunities for guests to donate to the Drag Defense Fund\, a collaboration between World of Wonder\, MTV\, and RuPaul’s Drag Race to support the ACLU’s fight for LGBTQ+ rights\, including combating censorship of drag performers. \nSpace is limited.
