SUMMARY:Murder Most Felt; or\, It's Not Easy Bleeding Green
DESCRIPTION:Show synopsis:\nIt is a dark and stormy night and veteran detective Jack Russell is murdered at his own retirement party. Among those in attendance: his amphibian butler\, a no-nonsense police inspector\, his aquatic archenemy\, an incomprehensible chef\, a reanimated corpse\, and… … 8th President Martin Van Buren? Using nothing but their wits\, ragdoll physics\, and just a bit of audience participation\, it is up to this eclectic band of familiar but legally distinct puppets to figure out which one of them is a killer before they strike again

SUMMARY:Offstage Onstage: Everything You Didn’t See The Greeks Do
DESCRIPTION:PHILADELPHIA\, PA: Offstage Onstage: Everything You Didn’t See The Greeks Do will be presented at Cannonball Festival at Asian Arts Initiative Black Box Theater (1219 Vine St) for five performances only.  \nFor the first time ever at Haverford Middle School\, three students interrogate all of the action that traditionally took place offstage in Ancient Greek tragedy: Oedipus stabbing his eyes out after hearing the truth that he murdered his father and married his mother\, Medea killing her children to get revenge on her husband Jason\, and the women of Thebes tearing Pentheus apart after being driven mad by Dionysus. The young theatre historians hop in and out of the different characters and stories of the Greeks to win the praise of their English teacher–Mr. Moscow. As they delve deeper and deeper into exploring these unthinkable acts\, however\, they confront the challenges of their own lives in and outside of school – fashion malfunctions\, bullying\, and\, at its worst\, the fear of gun violence. True to the little ghost party form\, much of the play is performed on a tiny stage. \nIf Pen15 and The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged) had a baby about Greek tragedy.

SUMMARY:Curators in Conversation: Revisiting the Story of the Revolution
DESCRIPTION:Join curators Bill Ewald and David Brigham for a gallery talk conversation that revisits the American Revolution through the exhibition Paths to Independence. Moving beyond a simple Patriot versus Loyalist framework\, they explore how revolutionary ideals intersected with the practical realities of war—provisioning\, militias\, governance\, and daily decision‑making. This discussion opens the story wider\, asking how curators can reintroduce historical complexity and include many voices in telling the nation’s founding moment. While you’re waiting for a flight that may never take off\, unpack your baggage and rifle through some of ours. You may recognize something as your own\, or find something you never knew you were carrying. \nMade for anyone who has ever lost a bag\, gotten stuck\, or missed a (metaphoric) flight\, this trans(formational) installation asks: how do you know it’s time to move on when you don’t know where you’re going? \nProduced by The Bearded Ladies Cabaret\nPart of FringeArt’s 2026 Festival & Collective Futures \nInstallation on view September 10-December 20\, 2026\nat The Hairport | 444 N 3rd Street\, Philadelphia PA 19123 \nInstallation hours:\nWednesday\, Thursday & Friday 4-9PM | Last timed entry at 8:15PM\nSaturday & Sunday 11AM-3PM| Last timed entry at 2:15PM \nLive events at The Hairport | Saturdays at 8PM \nThe Hairport is an interactive\, immersive installation filled with costumes\, cardboard props\, and other ephemera from the Bearded Ladies Cabaret’s 16-year performance history. Visitors will make their way through a sprawling multi-room space made to look like a fantastical\, metaphorical “airport”. Visitors will be invited to interact with components of the installation and may encounter docents in guiding roles. The experience will culminate in a “lounge” space full of “Bearded baggage” which will also serve as the performance site for the Now Hoarding: In-Flight Entertainment live event series. \nIt will take visitors approximately 60-75 minutes to view the entirety of the Priority Hoarding installation. Groups of 6 will enter the installation\, at 15-minute timed entry intervals. An opportunity to ride a Surrey bike is offered but not required.

SUMMARY:Artist Talk With Gemma Correll (AnxietyLand)
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Thursday\, September 10th at 7pm for an artist talk with Correll where she will share her creative process for drawing\, organizing and producing her bestselling graphic novel\, Anxietyland. \nIn 2018\, Gemma Correll had a panic attack that lasted for weeks on end. Unable to do much more than walk aimlessly through the streets of Berkeley\, Correll admitted herself to the hospital to reckon with The Bad Feeling that had been her companion since she was a child. \nWith her ingenious and charming illustrations “bursting with personality…peppered with witty asides” (Publishers Weekly)\, Correll leads readers through the amusement park in her own mind—featuring severe anxiety\, depression\, agoraphobia\, and dissociation—a frightening and darkly funny world that “feels like a place apart from ‘real’ life.” \nA hilarious thrill ride exploring the mysteries of the mind-body connection\, Gemma Correll’s graphic memoir is shot through with the absurd knowledge that there is no linear way through Anxietyland\, nor any cure-alls—but there are ways to feel better if you keep trying to move forward. \n***This event is free and open to the public\, but space is limited. Books will be available for purchase and signing by Gemma Correll. ***

SUMMARY:Edgar Allan Poe's LIGEIA Reimagined through Physical Theatre at Cannonball Festival
DESCRIPTION:PHILADELPHIA\, PA: LIGEIA by Edgar Allan Poe will be presented in the Cannonball Festival\, part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival\, at Asian Arts Initiative (1219 Vine St). This intimate physical theatre adaptation of the gothic masterpiece will run September 16-19. \nObsession for the lost LIGEIA spirals into madness in Poe’s haunting tale of unutterable grief and unimaginable terror. As chilling evidence of a supernatural presence mounts\, the audience wonders: are the narrator’s visions caused by opium\, or has his wife’s corpse been possessed? \nRather than dramatizing the events of the plot\, LIGEIA emphasizes the physical action of storytelling itself. Remaining faithful to Poe’s original text\, solo-performer William Trevino weaves poetic language with his decades of martial arts practice to create a visceral atmosphere of suspense. A 6th degree black belt in Soo Bahk Do and a veteran Poe performer\, Trevino transforms martial arts movement to embody the psychological struggles of Poe’s narrator. \n“I think of Poe’s language as a complex musical score\,” says Trevino. “My martial arts choreography doesn’t illustrate the story\, it dances to it.” \nWilliam Trevino’s work devising theatre from martial arts has been presented in NYC (including at Dixon Place and HERE Arts Center) with support from the Jerome Foundation and the Queens Arts Fund. His Poe performances have ranged from presenting The Tell-Tale Heart at the Edgar Allan Poe House & Museum in Baltimore\, to hosting the television series Gothic Tales on Manhattan Neighborhood Network/MNN. \nLIGEIA by Edgar Allan Poe will be presented on September 16 (9:00 PM)\, 17 (6:00 PM)\, and 19 (3:30 PM) at Asian Arts Initiative (1219 Vine St\, Philadelphia\, PA 19107) as part of Cannonball\, a presenting hub of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. SUMMARY:Amish Country Queer: A Night of Film\, Art & Drag
DESCRIPTION:You’ve heard of Amish country. Bet you didn’t expect drag queens. An award-winning documentary\, a photo exhibition celebrating rural LGBTQ+ life\, and a homegrown drag show converge in one unforgettable night. \nAmish Country Queer is a film about Lancaster’s queer nightlife and drag culture\, and a story about what it means to be visibly\, joyfully\, unapologetically queer in a place the world told you wasn’t built for you. \nTulle Queer is an ongoing portrait series by trans artist Brady Pappas that honors the queer icons of the 717 region. Using tulle as a recurring visual motif\, the project creates a vibrant\, community-rooted celebration of visibility and resilience. \nThe Angel Hour is Lancaster’s second-longest-running drag show\, celebrating five years of glamour and sisterhood\, created by Charlize Angelz. \nThis is a night of celebration. Of queer bodies\, queer lives\, and queer autonomy. Of breaking the binaries and changing the narratives we’ve been handed about where we can live\, whom we can love\, and who we can be. Queerness has never been confined to city limits\, and this night proves it.

SUMMARY:Days of Awe
DESCRIPTION:A year after her mother’s death\, a poet in recovery moves home to Philadelphia with a suitcase\, a divorce\, and a lifetime of inherited stories. Set during the ten days from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur\, Days of Awe blends poetry\, storytelling\, and chutzpah into a lyrical reckoning with grief\, desire\, and the inheritances we carry. \nFrom sleepless West Philly stoops to the ghost-lit borderlands of the Pale of Settlement\, this solo show traverses geographies and generations\, tracing a lineage of Jewish women through silence\, survival\, and return. \nTold with equal parts reverence and irreverence\, Days of Awe draws on family history and Jewish ritual to ask how we can carry loss while allowing ourselves to fall back in love with the world. \nDays of Awe is presented as part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival and Cannonball. \nThe show will take place on the third floor of the Asian Arts Initiative (1219 Vine Street Philadelphia\, PA 19107) \nTickets are available through FringeArts for $25 (pay-what-you-can options avilable): https://phillyfringe.org/events/days-of-awe/

George St.\, Philadelphia \nSpace will be limited due to the active construction site. Additional safety and accessibility details will be shared with registered attendees.
