SUMMARY:Tongue & Groove: Secrets
DESCRIPTION:Founded in 2006\, Tongue & Groove performs spontaneous theater – from hilarious to heartbreaking – inspired by real life experiences. \nIn October’s Secrets show\, each audience member is given an index card\, a pen\, and a provocative prompt: “Share a secret you keep.” Encouraged to answer honestly\, the audience anonymously submits their responses\, which are randomly drawn by the actors and read aloud. The ensemble then spontaneously performs a montage of funny and touching scenes & monologues inspired by their audience-collaborators’ submissions\, exploring the experiences that connect us all.

SUMMARY:Old Academy Players presents Disenchanted!
DESCRIPTION:Disenchanted! By Dennis T. Giacino\nDirected by Annie Hnatko \nApril 25th\, 26th; May 2nd\, 3rd\, 4th\, 9th\, 10th\, 11th\, 2025\nFriday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m.\, Sunday at 2:00 p.m. \nPoison apples and lost slippers are just the beginning. The original storybook heroines are none-too-happy with the way they’ve been portrayed in today’s pop culture\, so they’ve tossed their tiaras and have come to life to set the record straight. Forget the princesses you think you know — these royal renegades are here to comically belt out the truth. Received an “Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical” nomination (Outer Critics Circle Awards) and a “Best New Off-Broadway Musical” nomination (Off-Broadway Alliance). \nContent Warning: Contains adult language and content.

SUMMARY:Crawl Space\, Olivia Faith Harwood
DESCRIPTION:Fuller Rosen Gallery is proud to present Crawl Space\, a new solo exhibition by Olivia Faith Harwood. At the heart of Crawl Space is an ode to the monstrous feminine—a raw and unapologetic dive into the expectations\, fears\, and generational experiences that shape Harwood’s studio practice and selfhood. Her compositional blend of memory based imagery with radiant objects imbues her haunting self-portraits with an eternal depth of mystery and ecstasy. \nJoin us for an opening reception of Crawl Space at Fuller Rosen Gallery on First Friday\, April 04 from 6-9 pm.

SUMMARY:The Great Philadelphia Comedy Magic Walking Tour
DESCRIPTION:Something Magical this Way Comes! October is the month of magic in fact the last week of the month is National Magic Week and October 31 is National Magic Day. National Magic Day came about after the death of Harry Houdini who died on that day in 1926. If you are in the mood for magic\, try a unique Philly experience called\, “The Great Philadelphia Comedy Magic Walking Tour”. It is a blend of a walking history tour and a walking magic show\, complete with a seance trick in an alley called “Little Boys Court”\, where the spirits of the dead are contacted. Each historic location inspires a mind-bending magic trick. You will also meet “Mind-a-lugosi”\, a clairvoyant from 200 years ago.

SUMMARY:HipCityVeg x Bassetts Ice Cream Pop-Up
DESCRIPTION:HipCityVeg and Bassetts Ice Cream have teamed up for a new menu of plant-based frozen treats just in time for the dog days of summer. The collab features Bassetts’ mango-apricot sorbet in three unique drink combinations by HipCityVeg: \n\nFloat City: A bright\, bubbly escape in a glass. Float City starts with a scoop of Bassetts mango apricot sorbet—tangy\, tropical\, and ultra-smooth—topped with the crisp fizz of Boylan’s classic ginger ale. The result is a vibrant\, effervescent float that’s both nostalgic and refreshingly modern. Sweet\, zesty\, and impossible to sip without smiling.\nSunset Swirl Smoothie: Tropical bliss in every sip—this vibrant smoothie blends Bassetts mango apricot sorbet\, ripe bananas\, and tangy pineapple juice into a creamy\, sun-soaked base. A generous swirl of strawberry purée ribbons through the mix\, adding a burst of berry brightness and a beautiful visual pop. It’s fruity\, refreshing\, and as dazzling as a summer sunset.\nMango Cream Supreme: A golden blend of tropical indulgence—this velvety shake swirls together Bassetts mango apricot sorbet\, luscious organic soy & vanilla bean ice cream\, and a splash of bright orange juice. The result? A rich\, citrusy cream dream with a silky-smooth texture and sun-kissed flavor that’s both refreshing and decadently smooth.\n\nAll HipCityVeg Philly locations will also offer scoops of Bassetts’ mango apricot sorbet. Each new item was developed with Bassetts President himself\, Alex Bassett Strange. \nHipCityVeg will launch the collab with a free pop-up outside the HipCityVeg Rittenhouse Square location (127 S 18thStreet) on Tuesday\, July 29 from 11 am – 1 pm\, serving free samples of the new menu items out of a classic Bassetts ice cream cart.
