SUMMARY:Bethesda Project's 29th Annual Party & Auction
DESCRIPTION:Bethesda Project\, a local nonprofit dedicated to providing emergency shelter\, housing\, and supportive services for individuals experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia\, is hosting its 29th Annual Party & Auction on Friday\, May 15\, 2026\, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the historic Masonic Temple in Philadelphia. The Party & Auction is the organization’s largest fundraising event\, and this year Bethesda Project aims to raise $250\,000 in support of the life-changing programs and services they provide for thousands of Philadelphians experiencing homelessness annually and achieve their mission to be family with those who have none. \nThe event will honor Bethesda Project founder Abbot Domenic Rossi\, O. Praem. who founded the organization in 1979 with members of his prayer group from Daylesford Abbey in Paoli\, Pennsylvania. He is currently serving his final year as abbot at Daylesford Abbey and will continue to serve the priesthood and community after his retirement. \nThe program host is Aunyea Lachelle\, an Emmy Award–winning entertainment and lifestyle journalist\, host\, and producer with more than a decade of experience across broadcast television\, digital media\, and live events. She is currently an on-air entertainment and lifestyle contributor for multiple networks nationwide\, including ABC News. Most recently\, she served as the host and producer of Philly Live on NBC10 Philadelphia\, where she anchored daily live television\, produced original segments\, and interviewed some of the biggest names in entertainment\, culture\, and news. \nThis event’s premier sponsor is The Emerson Group\, a leading consumer products equity organization that manages brands totaling over $8 billion in value and invests in small and medium-sized brands through its various divisions: Emerson Logistics\, Emerson Retail Commerce\, Emerson Digital Commerce\, Emerson Insights\, Emerson Brand Management\, Emerson Marketing\, and Emerson Consumer Care. \nThe Party & Auction celebrates Bethesda Project’s history and shared accomplishments\, as well as provides an opportunity to honor community partners\, sponsors\, and donors. Guests attending the Party & Auction can expect to see and learn new things at the Masonic Temple in Philadelphia. From 6:00 pm – 6:45 pm\, three rooms upstairs will be open for self-guided tours\, allowing guests to experience the space intimately and uniquely. General admission tickets are available for $225 with special discounted pricing for Early-Bird tickets until April 25th or Young Professional General Admission\, 40 and under\, for $175. \nSilent auction items available at this year’s event include vacations\, restaurant gift cards\, a variety of gift baskets\, signed sports memorabilia\, and more! For those unable to physically attend the event and bid on-site\, individuals will still be able to participate in the silent auction\, which goes live online on May 8th. \nAbout Bethesda Project\nBethesda Project provides emergency shelter\, housing\, and supportive services for those experiencing \nhomelessness in Philadelphia through its mission to “find and care for the abandoned poor and to be family with those who have none.” Across its 11 locations\, Bethesda Project offers a safe environment where guests and residents can stabilize and regain their dignity and self-worth. SUMMARY:The Savoy Company presents Gilbert & Sullivan's The Gondoliers!
DESCRIPTION:Come dance the cachucha and join The Savoy Company in celebrating our 125th anniversary year with Gilbert & Sullivan’s uplifting operetta\, The Gondoliers! Set in Venice and the fictional kingdom of Barataria\, the plot centers on two gondoliers\, Marco and Giuseppe\, who discover that one of them is the rightful king but cannot determine which. They agree to rule jointly until the true monarch can be identified\, allowing Gilbert to satirize monarchy\, aristocracy\, and British political institutions. The show is especially noted for its unusually warm tone and emphasis on equality\, reflecting contemporary late-Victorian debates about class and governance.\nThrough its witty dialogue\, lively ensemble numbers\, and playful mockery of aristocracy and political systems\, the operetta celebrates equality while poking fun at rigid class distinctions and the pretensions of monarchy.\nPremiered in 1889\, The Gondoliers is the twelfth collaboration between librettist W.S. Gilbert and composer Arthur Sullivan. The show ran for 554 performances\, making it one of the duo’s most successful later works.\nIntroducing Stage Director Grant Mech and Choreographer Rebecca Malcolm-Naib\, whose inventive vision brings The Gondoliers to life in a masterful comedy that sparkles under the outstanding baton of Music Director Peter Hilliard and a superb professional orchestra. Produced by William Kader\, the production is enhanced by a striking\, professionally designed set and delightfully charming costumes.

SUMMARY:Chester County Studio Tour-Studio 36
DESCRIPTION:Come out and meet the artists of studio 36. \nSaturday May 16th 10-6PM and Sunday May 17th 11-5PM \nFrom studio host Stacy: I create fine art photography that captures the deep emotional connection between horses and humans. With a background in both photography and dressage\, I use light\, shadow\, and composition to reveal the beauty\, strength\, and spirit of the equine form. While horses are at the heart of my work\, I also explore still life\, florals\, and nature through a fine art lens—always seeking to create imagery that feels both timeless and intimate. \n  \nFrom guest artist Ivy: \nI began my art career eighteen years ago in commercial art\, but my focus shifted in recent years to create sparkly mosaics and custom paintings. Beginning my mosaics with a simple acrylic or gouache painting provides me with a foundation. Working with mosaics gives me the chance to take broken pieces of glass and make them into a new creation. Since mosaics require a sturdy surface\, I create them on canvas panels or cradled wood panels. Contrary to traditional mosaic artwork\, I use glue to adhere the beads\, pieces of glass\, mica\, and other materials to the panels\, which allows the materials to lend extra sparkle to my mosaics. \n  \nMy art practice is in direct contrast with my rigid day job. The dreamlike quality of my art represents freedom; I can make and do what I want and therefore bring a sense of hope and beauty to my audience. \nAt 1PM on Sunday\, Ivy will demonstrate her groutless mosaic technique to add sparkle to any space.
