SUMMARY:Autoheart @ Warehouse on Watts\, December 3
DESCRIPTION:London-based\, queer\, indie pop trio Autoheart released their fourth studio album Heartlands in August via their own O/R Records and are out on a 31-date North American tour in support\, including December 3 @ Warehouse on Watts. \nProduced by the band and mixed by Danton Supple (Coldplay\, U2\, Pet Shop Boys)\, Heartlands is pop for overthinkers: big feelings\, bigger choruses\, and the occasional dissociative episode. A little bit camp. Maybe a lot. It’s crying at the disco – with harmonies. The record is a tribute to the landscapes they encountered on the road across the U.S. on their sold-out 2024 tour – neon-lit truck stops\, weathered diners buzzing with late-night chatter\, and long\, quiet highways at dawn. But it’s the fans – the “Heartheads” – who left the deepest mark. Heartlands is a love letter to them: a reflection of America as both real and imagined\, part emotional reckoning\, part dreamscape. \nAutoheart have long defied classification\, blending indie guitar hooks with lo-fi disco\, soaring piano ballads and electronic textures. With over 3 million monthly Spotify streams and 5 million monthly YouTube views\, they’ve built a devoted global following drawn to their open-hearted lyricism and fiercely independent ethos. Their 2021 viral hit “Stalker’s Tango” became a cult favourite in anime and cosplay circles\, catapulting them onto global charts.

SUMMARY:LILI AÑEL IN COLLINGSWOOD
DESCRIPTION:Pianist Suzzette Ortiz proudly hosts “Jazz in the Wood\,” at the \nCollingswood Community Center\, \n30 Collings Ave\, Collingswood\, NJ 08108. \nPlease join us on December 4th\, 2025\, as we welcome Lili Añel and their group. \nDoors at 7pm. The concert starts at 7:30 pm and ends at 9:00 pm. \nTickets: $15 in advance\, $20 at the door. Students are FREE! \nAbout Lili: \nLili Añel considers music a calling. This striking six-foot tall singer-songwriter-musician grew up in New York City’s Spanish Harlem\, where she discovered her passion for music. As a child\, Lili remembers singing along to her mother’s Cuban\, jazz and pop-standard albums. It was also her mother who supported Lili’s desire to join the church choir. However\, it was her Afro-Cuban grandfather’s recognition of how much joy her singing brought others\, being the voice that stood out in that choir\, which served to set her feet firmly on the path of a career in music. \nAfter establishing a music career and a large following in New York in the vibrant 1980s Greenwich Village singer-songwriter scene\, she relocated to Philadelphia in 2004. It was from her new home base where she continued to move audiences with her songs\, now more jazz-inspired\, highlighting themes reflecting her hope for the future\, standing in her truth of life’s difficulties and conjuring the strength for perseverance. All delivered with that unique voice\, alternating between low reaches one feels in their center and a sweeter\, more vulnerable falsetto. \n“Think Joan Armatrading\, Joni Mitchell and Nina Simone all rolled into one…blurs the lines between Jazz\, Folk and intelligent Pop…strong and heartfelt.” – Ken Franckling’s Jazz Notes

SUMMARY:Wanamaker light show
DESCRIPTION:Have you been to the Wanamaker light show yet? All the vendor shops are in a group chat on there\, we’re not seeing as much foot traffic as we thought there was going to be. One of the things that sucks is the coordinators are doing almost NO social media on the event. We’re trying to come up with ways to promote it ourselves\, if you’re interested I’d be willing to offer you some of my booth merch to gift or for yourself for a post on the lightshow itself. I’d even pay you to do it! \nAs small business the 10k vendor fee was a lot to be there with them doing almost zero promos. So I’m reaching out to some local influencers to see what we can do ourselves to get the word out. \nIt’s a free event\, building is gorgeous\, the dickens village part is timed tickets though. \nhttps://www.phlvisitorcenter.com/wanamaker-christmas-light-show

SUMMARY:Re*Membering Mavis Pusey Symposium
DESCRIPTION:Re*Membering Mavis Pusey brings together artists\, scholars\, and curators to reflect on the life and legacy of Mavis Pusey (1928–2019)—a pioneering abstract artist whose dynamic prints and paintings capture the rhythm of urban change and the resilience of Black modernity. \nTaking place during the closing weekend of the first major museum survey of Pusey’s work\, the symposium explores questions of visibility\, preservation\, and remembrance. How can acts of conservation and curation become forms of remembrance and care for artists whose legacies have been obscured? How do we care for the material and historical traces of artists whose voices have been overlooked? How can institutions reframe their roles in sustaining the legacies of Black women artists? \nHosted by the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania with funding support from Terra Foundation for American Art\, the symposium will take place across two days. On Friday\, December 5th\, ICA will host public dialogues featuring notable participants from the field\, including O’Neil Lawrence of the National Gallery of Jamaica\, conservation specialists from the Getty Research Institute and Williamstown + Atlanta Art Conservation Center\, and members of the Studio Museum in Harlem’s leadership and curatorial teams. An invitation-only scholars’ day will occur on Saturday\, December 6th.

SUMMARY:Julbord Dinner
DESCRIPTION:Start your Christmas celebrations by indulging in a Swedish holiday dinner prepared by Jeffrey A. Miller Hospitality Group. Julbord\, or “Christmas Table\,” is a Scandinavian feast where a wide variety of foods are served buffet style\, or\, as Swedes say\, smörgåsbord. \nA traditional Julbord takes place on December 24th and is one of the highlights of the Christmas celebration for Swedes. Some menu items on a traditional Julbord are remnants of Viking spreads from mid-winter solstice celebrations\, while other originate from the turn of the twentieth century in Sweden. A modern favorite dish\, meatballs\, was only added in the 1970s! Regardless of the food served\, the most important and consistent element of Julbord is gathering with loved ones and sharing a meal during this special holiday season! \nTry out this incredible Swedish tradition for yourself at ASHM’s annual Julbord Dinner. The spread includes Swedish favorites like Christmas ham\, several types of herring\, meatballs\, salads\, and bread. A selection of ASHM Christmas Market craft vendors will also be open from 5-7 pm\, so you can shop while you enjoy a drink and some hors d’oeuvres before dinner. Book a table and invite family and friends to join you! Doors open at 5 pm for shopping; dinner will be served at 7 pm.
