SUMMARY:Wanamaker light show
DESCRIPTION:Have you been to the Wanamaker light show yet? All the vendor shops are in a group chat on there\, we’re not seeing as much foot traffic as we thought there was going to be. One of the things that sucks is the coordinators are doing almost NO social media on the event. We’re trying to come up with ways to promote it ourselves\, if you’re interested I’d be willing to offer you some of my booth merch to gift or for yourself for a post on the lightshow itself. I’d even pay you to do it! \nAs small business the 10k vendor fee was a lot to be there with them doing almost zero promos. So I’m reaching out to some local influencers to see what we can do ourselves to get the word out. \nIt’s a free event\, building is gorgeous\, the dickens village part is timed tickets though. \nhttps://www.phlvisitorcenter.com/wanamaker-christmas-light-show

SUMMARY:Re*Membering Mavis Pusey Symposium
DESCRIPTION:Re*Membering Mavis Pusey brings together artists\, scholars\, and curators to reflect on the life and legacy of Mavis Pusey (1928–2019)—a pioneering abstract artist whose dynamic prints and paintings capture the rhythm of urban change and the resilience of Black modernity. \nTaking place during the closing weekend of the first major museum survey of Pusey’s work\, the symposium explores questions of visibility\, preservation\, and remembrance. How can acts of conservation and curation become forms of remembrance and care for artists whose legacies have been obscured? How do we care for the material and historical traces of artists whose voices have been overlooked? How can institutions reframe their roles in sustaining the legacies of Black women artists? \nHosted by the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania with funding support from Terra Foundation for American Art\, the symposium will take place across two days. On Friday\, December 5th\, ICA will host public dialogues featuring notable participants from the field\, including O’Neil Lawrence of the National Gallery of Jamaica\, conservation specialists from the Getty Research Institute and Williamstown + Atlanta Art Conservation Center\, and members of the Studio Museum in Harlem’s leadership and curatorial teams. An invitation-only scholars’ day will occur on Saturday\, December 6th.

SUMMARY:Julbord Dinner
DESCRIPTION:Start your Christmas celebrations by indulging in a Swedish holiday dinner prepared by Jeffrey A. Miller Hospitality Group. Julbord\, or “Christmas Table\,” is a Scandinavian feast where a wide variety of foods are served buffet style\, or\, as Swedes say\, smörgåsbord. \nA traditional Julbord takes place on December 24th and is one of the highlights of the Christmas celebration for Swedes. Some menu items on a traditional Julbord are remnants of Viking spreads from mid-winter solstice celebrations\, while other originate from the turn of the twentieth century in Sweden. A modern favorite dish\, meatballs\, was only added in the 1970s! Regardless of the food served\, the most important and consistent element of Julbord is gathering with loved ones and sharing a meal during this special holiday season! \nTry out this incredible Swedish tradition for yourself at ASHM’s annual Julbord Dinner. The spread includes Swedish favorites like Christmas ham\, several types of herring\, meatballs\, salads\, and bread. A selection of ASHM Christmas Market craft vendors will also be open from 5-7 pm\, so you can shop while you enjoy a drink and some hors d’oeuvres before dinner. Book a table and invite family and friends to join you! Doors open at 5 pm for shopping; dinner will be served at 7 pm.

SUMMARY:Future Days Beer Company’s One Year Anniversary Celebrations: December 10th-14th
DESCRIPTION:December 10th: A special beer release kicks off the Future Days anniversary weekend! With the option to purchase commemorative glassware with your pour\, you can enjoy their signature imperial stout “Moonlight Mile” for the very first time — a beer near and dear to the brewer’s hearts from their early garage-brewing days. \nDecember 11th: The highly anticipated “Future Days” kölsch returns for a Kölsch Service in the taproom — and they’re doubling down and bending traditional German beer “rules” by adding the “Darker Days” altbier to the lineup. Keep an eye out for more details @futuredaysbeer as space is limited for this ticketed event. \nDecember 12th: The Future Days brewers rebrewed their OG beer list (with some tweaks) so we can all raise our glasses with their day-one lineup. They’ll end the evening with a DJ set by NoLibs neighbors\, Chris and the Pit Boyz. \nDecember 13th: North by Texas is serving up barbecue in the Future Days taproom\, paired with the debut of an exciting new smoked helles collab. Topped off with live music by Atomic Fizz\, join in on the celebration and boogie the night away. \nDecember 14th: Let’s close out the 1-year anniversary weekend with a Birds W. Future Days will have their projector up with sound ON for the Eagles game  — with celebratory $1 “Future Days” kölsch stanges after each TD. Go Birds!
