The international touring project makes its sole stop in the United States and aims to promote the excellence of Italian fashion and its creative industries worldwide. \nCurated by Clara Tosi Pamphili\, Italia è Moda unfolds as a theatrical stage where garments\, accessories\, and iconic objects engage in a dialogue through different moments of everyday life. The exhibition features creations by renowned Italian fashion designers\, including haute couture\, textiles\, leather goods\, footwear\, eyewear\, jewelry\, goldsmithing\, and cosmetics. Among the highlights are two original costumes from Federico Fellini’s Casanova starring Donald Sutherland\, which won the Academy Award for Best Costume Design in 1977. The exhibition is further enhanced by audiovisual content and interactive digital installations illustrating the creative processes and heritage of the participating Italian companies.

Working in various mediums from timeless practices to exploring new materials and techniques\, artists demonstrate their appreciation of the human figure. Some exercise mastery of classic renderings of the subject while others seek expressive interpretations and inspirations of the all so familiar forms\, albeit infinitely unique. \n  \nThese modern examples of a classic motif naturally register with us because what we recognize is most familiar\, a variation of the material self. These are moments in the finite life of another being\, stilled and eternalized\, sometimes venerated. A story is told\, energy is felt\, and technical skills are admired. DESCRIPTION:PHILADELPHIA\, PA: Offstage Onstage: Everything You Didn’t See The Greeks Do will be presented at Cannonball Festival at Asian Arts Initiative Black Box Theater (1219 Vine St) for five performances only.  \nFor the first time ever at Haverford Middle School\, three students interrogate all of the action that traditionally took place offstage in Ancient Greek tragedy: Oedipus stabbing his eyes out after hearing the truth that he murdered his father and married his mother\, Medea killing her children to get revenge on her husband Jason\, and the women of Thebes tearing Pentheus apart after being driven mad by Dionysus. The young theatre historians hop in and out of the different characters and stories of the Greeks to win the praise of their English teacher–Mr. Moscow. As they delve deeper and deeper into exploring these unthinkable acts\, however\, they confront the challenges of their own lives in and outside of school – fashion malfunctions\, bullying\, and\, at its worst\, the fear of gun violence. True to the little ghost party form\, much of the play is performed on a tiny stage. \nIf Pen15 and The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged) had a baby about Greek tragedy.

DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the opening of A Nation of Artists at PAFA\, marking the reoping of the Historic Landmark Building. This landmark exhibition reimagines the story of American art\, featuring iconic paintings\, decorative arts\, and contemporary works from the 18th century to today. Through five themes — including Prosperity and Inequity\, Internationalism\, Western Expansion\, Landscapes and Horizons\, and Geometry and Modern Design — A Nation of Artists showcases how American artists have shaped and challenged our culture.\n\nThis exhibition is part of a collaboration with the Philadelphia Art Museum\, showcasing a simultaneous exhibition in celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary. Together\, the two institutions feature more than 1\,000 works\, including over 120 iconic paintings and decorative arts from the Middleton Family Collection\, offering fresh perspectives on the evolving story of American art.\n\nA Nation of Artists will run through September 5\, 2027 at PAFA.

DESCRIPTION:You’ve heard of Amish country. Bet you didn’t expect drag queens. An award-winning documentary\, a photo exhibition celebrating rural LGBTQ+ life\, and a homegrown drag show converge in one unforgettable night. \nAmish Country Queer is a film about Lancaster’s queer nightlife and drag culture\, and a story about what it means to be visibly\, joyfully\, unapologetically queer in a place the world told you wasn’t built for you. \nTulle Queer is an ongoing portrait series by trans artist Brady Pappas that honors the queer icons of the 717 region. Using tulle as a recurring visual motif\, the project creates a vibrant\, community-rooted celebration of visibility and resilience. \nThe Angel Hour is Lancaster’s second-longest-running drag show\, celebrating five years of glamour and sisterhood\, created by Charlize Angelz. \nThis is a night of celebration. Of queer bodies\, queer lives\, and queer autonomy. Of breaking the binaries and changing the narratives we’ve been handed about where we can live\, whom we can love\, and who we can be. Queerness has never been confined to city limits\, and this night proves it.
