SUMMARY:Priority Hoarding: A Retrospectacle
DESCRIPTION:“Where our baggage is yours!” \nWelcome to the Bearded Ladies’ Hairport\, an interactive installation & performance series built on 16-years of accumulated baggage from a queer cabaret company devoted to art\, care\, mess\, and community. While you’re waiting for a flight that may never take off\, unpack your baggage and rifle through some of ours. You may recognize something as your own\, or find something you never knew you were carrying. \nMade for anyone who has ever lost a bag\, gotten stuck\, or missed a (metaphoric) flight\, this trans(formational) installation asks: how do you know it’s time to move on when you don’t know where you’re going? \nProduced by The Bearded Ladies Cabaret\nPart of FringeArt’s 2026 Festival & Collective Futures \nInstallation on view September 10-December 20\, 2026\nat The Hairport | 444 N 3rd Street\, Philadelphia PA 19123 \nInstallation hours:\nWednesday\, Thursday & Friday 4-9PM | Last timed entry at 8:15PM\nSaturday & Sunday 11AM-3PM| Last timed entry at 2:15PM \nLive events at The Hairport | Saturdays at 8PM \nThe Hairport is an interactive\, immersive installation filled with costumes\, cardboard props\, and other ephemera from the Bearded Ladies Cabaret’s 16-year performance history. Visitors will make their way through a sprawling multi-room space made to look like a fantastical\, metaphorical “airport”. Visitors will be invited to interact with components of the installation and may encounter docents in guiding roles. The experience will culminate in a “lounge” space full of “Bearded baggage” which will also serve as the performance site for the Now Hoarding: In-Flight Entertainment live event series. \nIt will take visitors approximately 60-75 minutes to view the entirety of the Priority Hoarding installation. Groups of 6 will enter the installation\, at 15-minute timed entry intervals. An opportunity to ride a Surrey bike is offered but not required.

SUMMARY:Free art show- A Likeness Now Seen
DESCRIPTION:May 1st – June 30th \nArtist reception- May 22nd 6-9pm \nBlack Moth Gallery presents a group exhibition exploring form as subject by contemporary artists. The collection of artworks addresses issues of self-identity\, body type acceptance\, intimacy and aging. Working in various mediums from timeless practices to exploring new materials and techniques\, artists demonstrate their appreciation of the human figure. Some exercise mastery of classic renderings of the subject while others seek expressive interpretations and inspirations of the all so familiar forms\, albeit infinitely unique. \n  \nThese modern examples of a classic motif naturally register with us because what we recognize is most familiar\, a variation of the material self. These are moments in the finite life of another being\, stilled and eternalized\, sometimes venerated. A story is told\, energy is felt\, and technical skills are admired. The intimacy of engaging a portrait or figure painting will always be reflective\, enticing\, and esteemed\, from the experience the of artist to that of the viewer. \n  \nA portion of the proceeds from this show will support Domestic Violence Center of Chester County. \n  \nInvited artists: \n\nJessica Bednarcik\nMashiul Chowdhury\nKatherine Fraser\nThomas Tustin\nTony Ward\nBarbara Zanelli

SUMMARY:Amish Country Queer: A Night of Film\, Art & Drag
DESCRIPTION:You’ve heard of Amish country. Bet you didn’t expect drag queens. An award-winning documentary\, a photo exhibition celebrating rural LGBTQ+ life\, and a homegrown drag show converge in one unforgettable night. \nAmish Country Queer is a film about Lancaster’s queer nightlife and drag culture\, and a story about what it means to be visibly\, joyfully\, unapologetically queer in a place the world told you wasn’t built for you. \nTulle Queer is an ongoing portrait series by trans artist Brady Pappas that honors the queer icons of the 717 region. Using tulle as a recurring visual motif\, the project creates a vibrant\, community-rooted celebration of visibility and resilience. \nThe Angel Hour is Lancaster’s second-longest-running drag show\, celebrating five years of glamour and sisterhood\, created by Charlize Angelz. \nThis is a night of celebration. Of queer bodies\, queer lives\, and queer autonomy. Of breaking the binaries and changing the narratives we’ve been handed about where we can live\, whom we can love\, and who we can be. Queerness has never been confined to city limits\, and this night proves it.

SUMMARY:Days of Awe
DESCRIPTION:A year after her mother’s death\, a poet in recovery moves home to Philadelphia with a suitcase\, a divorce\, and a lifetime of inherited stories. Set during the ten days from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur\, Days of Awe blends poetry\, storytelling\, and chutzpah into a lyrical reckoning with grief\, desire\, and the inheritances we carry. \nFrom sleepless West Philly stoops to the ghost-lit borderlands of the Pale of Settlement\, this solo show traverses geographies and generations\, tracing a lineage of Jewish women through silence\, survival\, and return. \nTold with equal parts reverence and irreverence\, Days of Awe draws on family history and Jewish ritual to ask how we can carry loss while allowing ourselves to fall back in love with the world. \nDays of Awe is presented as part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival and Cannonball. \nThe show will take place on the third floor of the Asian Arts Initiative (1219 Vine Street Philadelphia\, PA 19107) \nTickets are available through FringeArts for $25 (pay-what-you-can options avilable): https://phillyfringe.org/events/days-of-awe/

SUMMARY:Edgar Allan Poe's LIGEIA Reimagined through Physical Theatre at Cannonball Festival
DESCRIPTION:PHILADELPHIA\, PA: LIGEIA by Edgar Allan Poe will be presented in the Cannonball Festival\, part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival\, at Asian Arts Initiative (1219 Vine St). This intimate physical theatre adaptation of the gothic masterpiece will run September 16-19. \nObsession for the lost LIGEIA spirals into madness in Poe’s haunting tale of unutterable grief and unimaginable terror. As chilling evidence of a supernatural presence mounts\, the audience wonders: are the narrator’s visions caused by opium\, or has his wife’s corpse been possessed? \nRather than dramatizing the events of the plot\, LIGEIA emphasizes the physical action of storytelling itself. Remaining faithful to Poe’s original text\, solo-performer William Trevino weaves poetic language with his decades of martial arts practice to create a visceral atmosphere of suspense. A 6th degree black belt in Soo Bahk Do and a veteran Poe performer\, Trevino transforms martial arts movement to embody the psychological struggles of Poe’s narrator. \n“I think of Poe’s language as a complex musical score\,” says Trevino. “My martial arts choreography doesn’t illustrate the story\, it dances to it.” \nWilliam Trevino’s work devising theatre from martial arts has been presented in NYC (including at Dixon Place and HERE Arts Center) with support from the Jerome Foundation and the Queens Arts Fund. SUMMARY:Edgar Allan Poe Classic Reimagined through Physical Theatre at Cannonball Festival
His Poe performances have ranged from presenting The Tell-Tale Heart at the Edgar Allan Poe House & Museum in Baltimore\, to hosting the television series Gothic Tales on Manhattan Neighborhood Network/MNN. \nLIGEIA by Edgar Allan Poe will be presented on September 16 (9:00 PM)\, 17 (6:00 PM)\, and 19 (3:30 PM) at Asian Arts Initiative (1219 Vine St\, Philadelphia\, PA 19107) as part of Cannonball\, a presenting hub of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival.
