What’s What Productions presents 2 Women, 2 Mothers at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival

Philadelphia, PA: After a successful premiere in Toronto and the Bay Area, What’s What Productions is proud to bring 2 Women, 2 Mothers to the 2025 Fringe Festival at the Louis Bluver Theater at the Drake, (302 S Hicks Street, Philadelphia) running for a limited engagement on Sept 19 at 6:30 PM and September 20 at 4:45 PM

These 2 back-to-back solo shows featuring Vicki Dello Joio and Merry Ross, explore the transformative nature of mother-daughter relationships — what it means to be a daughter and a mother (and sometimes both at the same time) with a little bit of “What the f**k!?”

In It’s About Time, Vicki navigates the challenging end-of-life journey she travels with her mother, while celebrating and exploring the complex dynamics of their relationship. As Vicki transitions from daughter to mothering her own mother, she finds the humor and sorrow in letting go with humor and heart, using her expertise as a brilliant physical and character actor to tell stories of their relationship and that final passage.

Therapy Fund is a comic and poignant exploration of her relationships with both Merry’s two daughters and her mother and grandmother. With consummate skill and expertise, Merry walks the line between stand-up comedy and self-revelatory performance to look at how inter-generational trauma can be addressed and healed, when one is committed to doing it differently and laughing at her own mistakes and foibles along the way.
