Ready to Die? A Comedy Show About Dead Parents & DIY End-of-Life Planning

February 20 @ 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm
$35 – $40

Comedian Alison Zeidman has 1 Emmy nomination, 1 Writer’s Guild Award, and not just 1 but 2 dead parents. And she’s only in her 30s – pretty impressive! Only around 3% of the U.S. population has lost both parents by their mid-30s, and in Alison’s family’s case it’s even more unique, because both of her parents were relatively young when they died.

So Alison looks at her family history and she thinks… “Uh oh.” She needs to start getting her affairs in order, like, yesterday. And so do you. Because here’s a shocking statistic: 100% of everyone is going to die. And not talking about death is ruining our lives.

So to bring awareness to these issues, Alison shares stories from her experiences with not doing enough end-of-life planning with her parents; walks you through a comedic end-of-life planning 101; and gets her own affairs in order live on stage during the show.

Directed by Ryan Cunningham. Show run time is approximately 1 hour (7:00pm – 8:15pm) and is suitable for those age 18+.

Followed by… DIY End-of-Life Planning Paperwork Party

Keep the fun going directly after the show with a Paperwork Party led by Melanie Wilson of Life and Soul LLC. You just laughed about death; now, let’s make sure your loved ones aren’t left crying over unfiled paperwork.

This workshop is designed to demystify end-of-life planning by replacing endless legal documents with real talk to understand things like healthcare proxies, wills, and powers of attorney. We’ll begin your plans together and you’ll take home an Emergency Contact & Final Wishes document. We’re all in this together—leave the “morbid” at the door and leave with peace of mind.
