Old City Eats Block Party Returns June 5, 2025, for a Culinary Takeover of 2nd Street

Old City District announced the return of its signature summer kickoff event — the Old City Eats Block Party — happening Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The historic and lively 2nd Street corridor between Market and Chestnut Streets will transform into an open-air celebration of Old City’s vibrant and diverse dining scene.

The popular, one-night-only block party marks the start of the summer season and highlights one of Philadelphia’s most iconic and diverse culinary destinations with specialty dishes, signature cocktails and free entertainment for all ages. Guests can explore a rich variety of flavors from Old City’s most exciting restaurants, enjoy live music and family-friendly fun under the open sky.

“Old City Eats is more than just a block party – it’s a celebration of community, culture and cuisine,” said Job Itzkowitz, Executive Director of Old City District. “From international flavors to neighborhood favorites, the event reflects the energy and diversity that make Old City such a special destination. We’re excited to welcome everyone back to one of the most flavorful blocks in the city.”

This year’s Block Party is proudly sponsored by Bacardi. Guests 21 and older can enjoy specialty cocktails featuring Bacardi, Patrón and other premium Bacardi brands at participating restaurant locations. Tokens can be earned with each Bacardi cocktail and traded for exclusive swag and prizes.

Old City Eats Block Party is free to attend with food and beverage available as pay-as-you-go. Participating restaurants include (but are not limited to):

● 48 Record Bar – Vibrant venue known for its eclectic vinyl record collection and lively ambiance, offering a unique blend of music and specialty cocktails.

● Amada – Chef Garces’ iconic Spanish tapas bar

● Brownie’s Irish Pub – Intimate Irish bar with classic pub favorites and drink deals.

● Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar – Celebrating Cuban heritage with food, drinks, music, giveaways, & salsa dancing

● Khyber Pass Pub – Southern, Cajun, and Creole dishes with 22 rotating drafts

● Las Bugambilias – Traditional and modern Mexican cuisine in a festive setting
