Calling all film aficionados, monster movie fans and first-time filmgoers! Sidetrackd16 is bringing the original King Kong (1933) back to the big screen tomorrow, Sunday, August 30 at 1:30 PM, with a special screening projected from an actual vintage 16mm film print at Oaks Center Cinema. This special screening offers a chance to experience one of cinema’s most iconic monsters in a format that has become increasingly rare.

ABOUT 16MM FILM:

Unlike digital projection, where images are created from digital data, a 16mm film print is made up of thousands of individual photographic frames. During projection, those frames physically pass through the projector gate, with light shining through each frame to create the moving image on screen. The grain, texture, movement and subtle imperfections of the physical vintage 16mm film print become part of the experience — making film feel tangible, alive and unique.
