Hale & True Cider Co. Partnering with The Good King Tavern For New Taproom Food Menu

PHILADELPHIA (07/17/24) – Hale & True’s taproom on the corner of 7th and Kater is now offering a menu of French inspired pub food – without a kitchen. Starting this week, we will be partnering with our neighbor, The Good King Tavern, who has created a special take-out menu and will be delivering food directly to tables at our taproom.
Located across from each other on 7th Street in Bella Vista, Hale & True and The Good King have a long-standing relationship. Between 2018-2020, Hale & True offered small plates prepared by The Good King. The pandemic unfortunately ended that particular collaboration, but now, after expanding their kitchen, The Good King is able to offer a special take out menu exclusively for Hale & True customers.
Items on the menu include many favorites from The Good King that pair wonderfully with Hale & True’s cider: a cheese board with four local cheeses, accoutrements, and baguette ($21), shrimp croquettes with saffron aioli ($11), a fried eggplant sandwich with shaved zucchini, tomatoes, capers, and salade verte ($17), their famous tavern burger with special sauce and raclette cheese ($19), and more.
Customers at Hale & True will be able to place orders online through a dedicated QR code, and The Good King will prepare and deliver the food right to the table.
“Before opening Hale & True, The Good King Tavern was one of my favorite restaurants in the city,” said Kerry McKenzie, co-owner and cider maker at Hale & True. “Risa and I would always take our family and friends there, so it’s really fitting and exciting that we can offer people a great dinner menu from such a special place.”
Hale & True will continue their recognized weekend pop-up program and allow customers to bring their own food as well.
