Farewell to George Washington: A Constitutional Convention Sendoff

It’s the 3rd annual Washington Farewell event! Join the Independence Historical Trust for a night of toasts, drinks, and comradery as we loosely re-create a historic and memorable night at City Tavern at the close of the Constitutional Convention. Before the famous document was signed, Washington and some friends headed over to City Tavern for a farewell party hosted by the First Troop Philadelphia City Cavalry. That night’s bar tab came to over 89 pounds – more than $15,400 in today’s money! Beverage partners for the night include: Dad’s Hat Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey, Philadelphia Mead Company, and Yard’s Brewing. Tickets include food + drink, plus beverage tastings.
