Defining the Sports Car Demo Day at the Simeone Museum

oin us for our first Demo Day of 2024 as we take a closer look at the special qualities and characteristics that put the “sports” in sports car. In the evolution of automotive design, the integration of raw performance with practical utility has given rise to the modern concept of the sports car, a vehicle that deftly balances speed and agility. Enthusiasts will have the opportunity to witness these legendary vehicles up close, learn about their unique design elements, engineering breakthroughs, and racing histories.

What are Demo Days at the Simeone Museum? Demo Days at the Simeone Museum are special events that showcase the museum’s collection of historic race cars. During these events, visitors can watch as the cars are driven around the museum’s track, and learn all about the history of the cars, the characters that made them famous, and the races that made them legends!
These special events take place on select Saturdays throughout the year and offer a rare opportunity to watch a selection of rare and historic race cars in action.

Our Demo Day schedule is as follows
– 10:00 | Simeone Museum doors open to the public.
– 11:15 to 11:45 | Discussion highlighting the specific technology and attributes of the featured cars.
– 12:00 to 12:30 | Visual presentation highlighting rare photos and videos from the Simeone Museum Library and Archives with Simeone Museum Executive Director Kevin Kelly.
– 12:30 to 1:00 | A spirited driving demonstration of the featured Demo Day collection cars on our 3-acre tarmac.
– 1:00 to 2:00 | Visitors are able to inspect and photograph Demo Day cars up close while engaging in a question and answer session with Simeone Museum staff and volunteers
