Celebrating Edna Lewis with Toni Tipton-Martin

October 25 @ 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm
$150

Join award-winning culinary historian Toni Tipton-Martin in conversation with Cybille St. Aude-Tate. Following the conversation, enjoy an intimate three-course dinner with Chef Cybille and Chef Omar Tate of Honeysuckle.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of The Taste of Country Cooking, Edna Lewis’s landmark 1976 cookbook and one of the most influential works in American food writing. Join Sisterly Love Collective for a family-style dinner at Honeysuckle as a part of the 2026 Cookbooks & Convos festival. Chef Cybille St. Aude-Tate and Chef Omar Tate’s Honeysuckle, is a James Beard-recognized restaurant built around ancestry, nourishment, and reclamation.

The evening will feature Toni Tipton-Martin, the award-winning culinary historian behind The Jemima Code and Jubilee, and author of the foreword to the new 50th-anniversary edition of The Taste of Country Cooking, in conversation with Chef Cybille. Tipton-Martin is a three-time James Beard Award winner and 2025 Lifetime Achievement honoree. Together, Tipton-Martin and Chef Cybille will explore Edna Lewis’s enduring influence, the importance of preserving culinary history, and the ways her work continues to inform contemporary cooking.

Following the conversation, enjoy an intimate three-course dinner inspired by The Taste of Country Cooking, with Chef Cybille and Chef Omar Tate interpreting Lewis’s recipes, ingredients, and philosophy through the lens of Honeysuckle.

Your ticket includes a signed copy of the book, a three-course meal, and one welcome drink. One seating, 5:00 to 8:30 PM on October 25 at Honeysuckle. Tickets are $150 per person.
