Join the African American Museum in Philadelphia for our Annual Opening Kwanzaa Unity Celebration—a vibrant event that brings the spirit of Umoja (Unity) to life! Umoja means “to strive for and maintain unity in the family, community, nation, and race,” and this celebration is all about coming together to honor culture, community, and connection.

An insightful exploration of the Nguzo Saba—the seven principles of Kwanzaa
Delicious food, exciting activities, and live music that celebrate Black culture and heritage
Hosted by the one and only Shekhinah B, this year’s incredible MC!
This family-friendly event is the perfect way to embrace the joy and unity of Kwanzaa. Bring your loved ones and let’s celebrate together!
Preregistration for the event is highly encouraged.
Guests are encouraged to dress in Kente, Ankara, or positive and empowering Kwanzaa-related attire all week long!
