Ballet & Bourbon Tasting at La Peg
March 25, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
On Sunday, March 25 beginning at 1 p.m., La Peg at FringeArts will host Ballet, Bourbon and Brunch: a lively private ballet lesson, followed by a bourbon tasting and buffet-style, New Orleans-inspired brunch. For just $30 per person, attendees will learn basics of ballet in a 45-minute lesson taught by FringeArts President Nick Stuccio (and a soundtrack of some of his 1980s favorites!), then enjoy engaging bourbon talk and tasting from Meredith Maciolek of Sazerac Spirits. To accompany the bourbon class, Chef-Owner Peter Woolsey and his culinary team will prepare and serve a New Orleans-inspired brunch buffet that will complement the iconic American spirits. Tickets are strictly limited to 30 guests, and are expected to sell out quickly; to reserve your place, please call 215-375-7744.
During their 45-minute ballet lesson, held in the expansive FringeArts theater, attendees will learn from accomplished dancer Stuccio, enjoying an invigorating workout that’s sure to whet their appetites for the meal to come.
Immediately following the class, they will proceed up the La Peg’s semi-private mezzanine for a lavish brunch. The feast will be served during an interactive bourbon lesson from Maciolek of Sazerac, an iconic American spirits distiller named for what is said to be the country’s first cocktail, the Sazerac. Guests will enjoy tastes of several Sazerac bourbon and rye whiskies, and can expect to learn the history of cocktails, the history of the Sazerac cocktail, some essential background on bourbon and in-depth details about Sazerac brands Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare, including the science of maturation and the wood and mash bills for both spirits.
