Event Description:
Are you curious about acting but don’t know where to start? Join the Acting 1 class at Philly Improv Theater (aka PHIT) and discover the magic of the stage in a supportive, fun, and welcoming environment! This class is perfect for adults (18+) with little to no experience who are interested in exploring the fundamentals of acting.
Led by an experienced acting Instructor, this 8-week course will guide you through essential acting techniques, including voice and movement, character development, and scene study. You’ll gain confidence, enhance your communication skills, and enjoy a creative outlet while meeting like-minded individuals. Whether you dream of performing on stage or simply want to try something new, this class is for you!

Instructor: Dave Allison is a Philadelphia-based Educator and Performer. He holds his BFA in Acting from Arcadia University. He has studied at Second City Training Center in Chicago and the Pig Iron School in Philly, and has an extensive background in Martial Arts. Dave is currently teaching with Walnut Street Theatre, ASAP Drama, Rooted Tree Productions, Wolf Performing Arts Center, and Philly Improv Theater.
