Wondering why your beau thinks of the Roman Empire on repeat? Let us give you a reason to join in on the fun as we explore the wines that comprised the Roman Empire.
Jill Weber, archaeologist and wine explorer, will lead us through 5 different wine tastings. Starting with the founding of the Kingdom of Rome in Latium, through the struggles of the Republic with Sulla and Caesar, followed by the expansion of Empire under Trajan, the demise of the Empire under Romulus Augustulus, and the perseverance of the Eastern Empire at Byzantium.
This wine tasting will showcase wines from the Lazio region (modern day Rome), as well as Armenia, Slovenia, Greece, with light food bites presented throughout the evening. By the end of the night, you’ll understand what the hype of the Roman Empire is all about.
