2024 MLK Weekend Celebration at AAMP

On behalf of Citizens, we are pleased to extend reduced admission all weekend long.

MLK 2024 Dance4LifeDANCE4LIFE School of the Arts & Training Institute harnesses the dynamic power of creativity and fuses it with the discipline of movement education. The Institute shapes and prepares youth for a career in the international dance arena. Join us at 1 pm for a performance from their traveling performance troupe.

MLK 2024 Destiny L & Chasing Dreams (2)Destiny L Music is not just an artist; she’s a phenomenon that transcends beyond the boundaries of conventional music. This multi-talented artist is a songwriter too, breathing life into her lyrics with her soulful voice. Destiny’s journey in music continues to evolve as she tours with the Chasing Dreams Band. Join us at 2 pm for a dynamic performance. In addition, join us virtually for a special café concert with Destiny L + Chasing Dreams at 6 pm.

MLK 2024 Discussion (1)The MLK Day Discussion: Philly’s Civil Rights Legacy explores the remarkable civil rights history in Philadelphia along with MLK’s connections with the city. The meaningful experience includes Matthew J. Countryman, Associate Professor of Afro-American & African Studies and History at the University of Michigan; Kenneth Salaam, a Philadelphia Freedom Fighter who marched alongside Dr. martin Luther King, Jr.; and Dr. Diane Turner, a scholar and Curator at the Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection. Join us at 11 am for this meaningful discussion.

MLK 2024 Color and Talk (2)Color & Talk with Amir “Amiracle” Campbell is a family experience that merges the creativity of coloring with a conversation with a multi-faceted creative. With access to coloring stations, guests are encouraged to create their own masterpiece on what MLK’s legacy means to them followed by a conversation with Campbell about the power and inspiration in art. Join us at 2 pm for this imaginative experience.
