Eat Up The Boarders’ “A Taste of Home” is a Celebration of Cultures Through Food & Fellowship
There’s no denying Philly’s rich food scene. Just about every ethnic food cuisine can be found here and one local organization is putting a spotlight on eateries that derive from immigrant beginnings. Eat Up the Boarders whose mission is to “break down our everyday barriers through shared experienced through language, food, and culture,” is hosting a celebration entitled “A Taste of Home” on Sunday May 16th 12-6 pm at Sunflower Philly.
A Taste of Home is a tribute to the many owners and chefs’ journeys away from home and a celebration of new ones. The team at Eat Up The Borders is creating a space to celebrate these individuals through food and fellowship. Food vendors will include Mexican restaurant Nemi, Israeli cuisine from Moshava Food Truck, gluten free organic cupcakes from Tres Fiori, and avocado seed brew form Reveal. A variety of other vendors featuring merch and crafts will also be on-hand.
In addition A Taste of Home will also feature live painting from Trevor Holak as well as live music from The Last Generation, Mad Beatz Philly, and Joziah Council. This event welcomes everyone with open arms, whether it’s family, kids, or pets. So be sure to bring a lawn chair or a picnic blanket and just vibe out. This event has a suggested $5 donation to enter as well as an opportunity to donate more to the cause if you wish. Reserve here.
