Dock Street Brewing Company is Celebrating Valentine’s Day With Rom-Com Movies, Heart Pizzas, & More

Dock Street Brewing Company is offering up some Valentine’s Day Vibes all February long with programming at both of its taprooms in Fishtown (1229 N Front St.) and Point Breeze 2118 Washington Ave.). Programming will include a monthlong themed pop-up at Fishtown with rom-com screenings, cheeky cocktails and decor; plus a Palentine’s Day event at Dock Street South on February 13th and Valentine’s Day events at both locations on February 14th featuring heart shaped pizza, a beer release, permanent jewelry, bouquet-making, and more.

On the heels of its successful holiday pop-up, “Dock the Halls” at Dock Street Fishtown, the quirky 40-seat cocktail bar and taproom is transforming into a lovey-dovey wonderland with pink and heart-shaped décor from February 1st-29th, including themed cocktails and screenings of rom-coms, perfect for girls’ night or date night. The themed cocktails, $14 each, are available at Dock Street Fishtown for the full month, and include:

·      XOXO Gossip Girl – vodka, red velvet simple, espresso, coffee liqueur, garnished with dark chocolate zest

·      Divorced Parents – rye whiskey, smoked black cherry simple syrup, cherry bitters

·      Sex Off The Beach – orange infused tequila, strawberry simple, triple sec, lime juice, topped with soda

·      Say It Out Loud – marshmallow-infused white rum, raspberry simple syrup, oat milk

·      Hail The Heartbreaker – Vicio Mezcal, apertivo, sweet vermouth

 

For the first two weeks of February, Dock Street Fishtown will also be screening iconic rom-coms from the 90’s, 00’s and recent years. The full schedule is as follows:

FEBRUARY 13: PALENTINE’S DAY

In celebration of Palentine’s Day, on Tuesday, February 13 from 5-8pm, girl gangs, besties, siblings, and beyond are invited to Dock Street South at 2118 Washington Avenue to celebrate all forms of platonic love. The brewery will be serving up heart shaped versions of their award-winning wood-fired pizzas (upon request), paired with a Sex Off the Beach ($14) with orange infused tequila, strawberry simple, triple sec, lime juice, topped with soda. The 2011 rom-com Friends with Benefits featuring Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis will be screened on Dock Street’s projector all night. Philadelphia fine jeweler Angela Monaco will be onsite from 5-8pm with her popular Lazer Links permanent jewelry. Attendees can purchase matching permanent bracelets with their bestie or gal pal. Bracelets start at $75. Lazer links will be first come, first served. In addition, Florist Shannon Toal will be offering DIY bouquet making starting at 6pm. The bouquets are $45/person. Those interested should pre-register here.

FEBRUARY 14: VALENTINE’S DAY

  • Sweethearts and soulmates are invited to Dock Street Fishtown on February 14, for a night of love and libations. In addition to the taproom’s themed décor, cocktails and Silver Linings Playbook screening, Kerry Handschuh, Philly Linker for Lakuna Links will be onsite from 5-8pm selling permanent jewelry to couples, lovers and beyond. Bracelets start at $65. Then, at 8pm karaoke will commence and couples will have the chance to belt their best rendition of iconic love songs to their special someone.

 

  • Dock Street South will once again be serving up heart shaped pizzas. Guests can enjoy their pizza and beverages while watching A Walk to Remember and Silver Linings Playbook on the projector screen.

 

  • Dock Street’s Man Full of Mocha (5.2% ABV), a seasonal version of their award-winning Man Full of Trouble Porter, will be released in 16 ounce cans and on tap at both Dock Street South and Dock Street Fishtown on February 14. Man Full of Mocha is brewed with cocoa nibs, coffee from Dock Street’s neighbors at Green Street Roasters, and fresh Madagascar vanilla beans. It features a rich chocolate character complimented by a sweet vanilla essence and a bold coffee backbone. Black, brown, and chocolate malts create its deep mahogany appearance and gentle hopping gives it just enough balance. The beer will be available in 4-packs for pick-up at both locations, perfect for a last-minute gift for the beer lover.
