City Fitness Ventures Into Lifestyle Brands With Vintage Gear and Their Own Signature Sneaker
You might not expect to find a cool vintage shirt at a gym, but it’s a great place to look if you are at City Fitness where City Shop has launched this summer at four of the fitness company’s six club locations. Long known for their stunning gyms around Philadelphia, City Fitness Philadelphia is taking its tagline “more than a gym” and making it come to life by bringing well-executed offerings that surprise and delight. By partnering with local businesses, they are providing members and patrons a great opportunity to further connect with the city.
City Shop, which can be found at the Fishtown, East Market, Logan Square, and Graduate Hospital locations, sells City Fitness branded apparel alongside a rotating selection of high-quality vintage, hand-selected by their partner Complete Nostalgia. Artfully displayed in the clubs with a backdrop of grassified walls and neon signs, the vintage is professionally restored and chosen by Complete Nostalgia owner True (Mark Phipps) with the CF consumer in mind.
“Vintage is hot right now and we have a great product,” explained Vice President of Marketing and Sales for City Fitness, Cesar Vizcarrondo, “We saw an opportunity to partner with a local expert and in so doing, we are bringing cool stuff to City Shop and our members are responding well to it.”
In addition to City Shop, City Fitness will also soon be launching their very own sneaker in collaboration with Garrixon, a high-end Philadelphia-based sneaker company. The brand is the only sneaker company that makes its footwear entirely in Philadelphia. The sneaker will feature artwork by a local artist and is expected to hit City Shop by the end of the year.
City Fitness is also poised to launch City Shakes in the Fall. Many of the clubs already have a juice or shake bar but this will be another reimagining that streamlines their offerings and if the vintage is any indication ⸻expect a few surprises.
In the meantime, City Fitness wants to celebrate their newest City Shop x Complete Nostalgia launch with a Shop & Hang event. On September 9th from 5:30 pm- 7:00 pm, at the Fishtown location, members and non-members will be able to meet True from Complete Nostalgia. With a pop-up style shopping event outside of the fitness club, True will also be there to answer any questions and showcase his vintage line. With this event open to the public, City Fitness invites all to come check out the brand new City Shop and Complete Nostalgia line.
