Christmas Underwater Returns to Adventure Aquarium with Scuba Santa and The World’s Tallest Underwater Christmas Tree
The holiday season is making a splash at Adventure Aquarium as the beloved “Christmas Underwater” celebration returns for another year of festive fun — complete with Scuba Santa’s first dive on Friday, November 21 at 10:30 a.m. Presented by Shriners Children’s Philadelphia, this one-of-a-kind holiday tradition runs through December 24, transforming the Camden waterfront attraction into a dazzling winter waterland for families and ocean lovers alike.
The star of the season is none other than Scuba Santa, who trades in his red suit for a wetsuit as he dives daily into the aquarium’s Ocean Realm exhibit. Guests can wave, snap selfies, and watch as Santa swims among sea turtles, sharks, and stingrays — all while spreading holiday cheer from beneath the waves.
“Seeing Santa swimming side-by-side with sea life never loses its magic,” said an aquarium spokesperson. “It’s a holiday experience you can’t find anywhere else in the region.”
Beyond the famous dive, visitors can explore a host of seasonal attractions:
-
The World’s Tallest Underwater Christmas Tree inside Shark Realm, shimmering with lights and ornaments.
-
Letters to Scuba Santa, where children can drop off handwritten wish lists for delivery straight to the North Pole (via the sea, of course).
-
Indoor snow flurries and jaw-some holiday décor, turning every corner of the aquarium into a festive, photo-worthy experience.
All “Christmas Underwater” activities are included with regular aquarium admission, making it an easy and unforgettable addition to any family’s holiday plans.
