There will also be live music and other pop-up activities. The two-day event will take place along Germantown Avenue between Rex Avenue and Willow Grove Avenue on Friday, January 28, from 5 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, January 29, from noon to 6 p.m.

2022 Chestnut Hill on Ice activities include:

• Ice Sculptures & Live Ice Carving Demonstrations: Masterfully crafted ice sculptures will be displayed along Germantown Avenue on Friday and Saturday. • Iceless Ice Skating Rink: Visitors of all ages will enjoy gliding across an iceless rink, socially distanced from other skaters, in this all-weather activity. Skates in varying sizes and walkers for non-skaters will be available on site. Admission is $15 per person, and it is recommended to purchase them in advance HERE. The rink will be located at 150 East Evergreen Avenue and will be open Saturday, January 29, from noon to 5 p.m.

• Ice Bonfire: Stay warm and cozy as Chestnut Hill on Ice concludes with an impressive eight-foot bonfire encased in a pillar of ice on Saturday, January 29, at 5:30 p.m., at 150 East Evergreen Avenue.

• Ice Bar at Market at the Fareway: Chestnut Hill Brewing Company will host an outdoor ice bar carved entirely out of ice blocks in its outdoor beer garden located at 8221 Germantown Avenue, created exclusively for Chestnut Hill on Ice. Enjoy ice-cold locally-brewed beers, wines, and hot drinks at their outdoor ice bar.

• Axe Throwing: New for 2022. On Friday and Saturday, bring out your inner lumberjack with a fun game of axe throwing located at Laurel Hill Gardens (8125 Germantown Avenue). Each game provides 10 axe throws at the bullseye and includes training/instruction by expert staff for first-timers. Side-by-side throwing lanes make it easy for friends and family to compete next to each other. Participants must be 14 years or older. Tickets are available for $15 by pre-sale HERE and will be available on-site on a first- come, first-served basis.

• Warming Stations: Stations with fire pits will be located along Germantown Avenue, offering attendees the chance to warm up while enjoying warm adult- and children-friendly beverages and snacks.

• Stateside Vodka will offer bottle sales at their mobile bar at Laurel Hill Gardens (8125 Germantown Avenue) on Friday and Saturday.

• Chili Specials: Returning for the third year, Chestnut Hill’s restaurants will engage in a friendly competition to see who can cook up the most delicious chili. Taste one or taste them all while exploring the Hill. Participating restaurants can be found HERE.
