Art in the Age Will be Selling Special “Weenie Martinis” to Raise Money for Morris Animal Refuge
As if you needed an excuse to enjoy a drink this summer, Art in the Age (116 N 3rd St.) is will introducing a special cocktail for a great cause during a brand-new charitable series titled Dog Days of Summer. During each weekend-long celebration, guests will be able to order a Weenie Martini for $17 and $5 will go to Morris Animal Refuge which supports animals in need.
While enjoying hotdog-inspired martinis, guests can also expect rotating pup-related pop-ups, including visits from local businesses, representatives from nearby animal rescues with adoptable pets on-site, and of course, a summertime staple: hot dogs, Dog-lovers and pups can swing by Art in the Age for these special events the weekends of May 26 – May 28, June 30 – July 2, July 28 – July 30, August 25 – August 27, and September 22 – September 24.
Made with potato vodka (re: potato bun), tomato-infused dry vermouth, pickle brine, celery bitters, sesame oil, and topped with a skewered sliced tomato, cornichon, and a hot dog wheel, this drink is definitely fitting for the adventurous types as well as curious folks and of course those looking for that perfect Instagram and TikTok content.
“We’re already prepared for the Dog Days of Summer, and what better way to celebrate than with a Weenie Martini in hand? It’s delicious, I swear,” commented Craig Richie, General Manager at Art in the Age. “At the core of our series will be our charitable alignment with Morris Animal Refuge, but we’ll also feature a variety of pup-related pop-ups, including hot dogs made with Poi Dog’s new Huli Huli sauce, with our friend, Chef Kiki Aranita!”
All summer long, Art in the Age will be partnering with a variety of local businesses and pop-up partners, including Poi Dog sauces, purveyors of Hawai’i at home condiments led by founder and acclaimed Chef Kiki Aranita. On Saturday, June 17, guests can snack on Poi Dog Huli Huli Hot Dogs – hot dogs topped with Huli Huli sauce. Plus, gourmet hot dogs will be available for purchase on-site during Dog Days weekends, from the end of July through August. More info to follow.
