See their full statement below:
Dear friends and ice cream lovers near and far,
It’s been a good run and after eleven years, we’ve decided that the time has come for us to close Weckerly’s Ice Cream. Our last day of service at the Fishtown shop will be on Saturday, December 23rd.
On this day in 2012, we sold our first cup of ice cream. In the past eleven years, we’ve grown a lot. We’ve had the privilege of being surrounded by an incredible team and inspiring collaborators. We’ve formed relationships with farms and suppliers. Each of those individuals, too many to name, has had a hand in creating the ice cream that so many of you have enjoyed. This has been a journey both challenging and fulfilling and we are excited for new adventures that lie ahead.
Whether you’re reading this as a customer, co-worker (past or present), supplier, collaborator, neighbor, or simply a well-wisher, THANK YOU for being a part of this remarkable experience. You haven’t just supported us, you’ve inspired new flavors, pushed our creativity, and been an inseparable part of Weckerly’s Ice Cream. We look forward to sharing a few more scoops with you before the year’s end.
With gratitude,
Jen & Andy
