Looks like new entertainment is coming to Philly to boost the options for date night and outings with friends and fam. In a recent announcement LOL Entertainment, the company behind Museum of Illusions has stated that two new entertainment attractions are coming to Philly this spring/summer.
The first entertainment destination slated to open will be Sandbox VR which will be located at 1712 Walnut St and is “the world’s most immersive experiences using state-of-the-art virtual reality technology. At each location, groups of up to six friends put on VR headsets and wear motion sensors that capture their full body movements, letting them see and physically interact with each other as they battle in a shared virtual world. This patented technology provides a realism that’s not possible with home VR or other location-based platforms – guests’ own bodies act as their game controllers as they step into these virtual worlds,” LOL Entertainment states.
Adding, “All Sandbox VR experiences are developed by in-house AAA gaming studios in Hong Kong and Vancouver, led by game industry veterans. The unparalleled experiences are uniquely designed for groups to play as social experiences, further setting Sandbox VR apart. Teams of up to six friends freely roam and explore virtual worlds together, while relying on each other to succeed.”
On the heels of Sandbox VR will be Time Mission. Slated to open this summer at 1530 Chestnut St, Time Mission. According to LOL Entertainment, Time ission blends “physical and mental challenges, it’s a fast-paced, team-based adventure where players take on real-world tasks to earn points for their teams—travel through a glitch matrix, crack codes, dodge lasers, solve riddles, uncover hidden tunnels, play music, and more. Teams of two to five will embark on a time-travel journey, racing through 25+ unique portals across the past, present, and future, all while collecting points and battling the clock.”
We’re excited to bring Time Mission to Philadelphia,” said Rob Cooper, CEO of LOL Entertainment. “Philly is all about community and teamwork, so a concept built around team-based challenges feels like a perfect fit. It’s another way we’re creating unforgettable experiences that bring people together, and we can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”
