Kampar Kitchen is Popping Up at Triple Bottom Brewing for a Week Long Celebration of Their 4 Year Anniversary

Triple Bottom Brewing (915 Spring Garden St.), PA’s only B-Corp Certified brewery, is celebrating its fourth anniversary next week and is collaborating with some of Philadelphia’s most innovative, superstar chefs to help ring in the occasion. Anniversary events will run every day from Wednesday, September 13 – Sunday, September 17.

The brewery is planning a week of chef pop-ups, art shows, live music, and drag. Its conspirator in much of this planning is Chef Ange Branca, whose organization Kampar Kitchen seeks to provide opportunities and training to diverse chefs making under-represented foods. Branca is a James Beard-nominated chef whose restaurant, Sate Kampar, closed during the pandemic. In its wake, she participated in one of Triple Bottom’s Joy Boxes — a pandemic innovation that delivered a variety of local foods to people’s doors. Branca and Triple Bottom founder Tess Hart hit it off, and now have new collaborations in store.

After the closure of Saté Kampar, Branca created Kampar Kitchen to highlight underrepresented chefs and foods from the Philadelphia community. Seven chefs from the Kampar Kitchen platform will be featured during Triple Bottom’s anniversary week, either with their own day-long pop-up or at the grand finale Bluegrass Brunch on Sunday the 17th, where Branca has curated a special brunch tray with an assortment of small bites from the following Kampar Kitchen chefs:

  •  Melissa Fernando, Sri’s Company, Sri Lanka
  • Amaryllis Rivera-Nassar, Amy’s Pastelillo’s, Puerto Rico
  • Margarita Perez, Cartagena Empanadas, Colombia
  • Cote Tapia-Marmugi, Mole Street Baker, Chile
  • Diana Widjojo, Rice & Sambal, Indonesia
  • Ange Branca, Saté Kampar, Malaysia

Triple Bottom Brewing’s partnership with Kampar Kitchen makes a lot of sense, because it brings to life the brewery’s vision that everyone in every community should have the opportunity to craft something great.

The brewery is committed to being a place where people who have been underestimated can find a chance to shine. In addition to hosting pop-ups and community events that advance social justice in Philadelphia, Triple Bottom’s employment model stands out for its commitment to equity and justice. The brewery is a fair chance business that creates meaningful, living wage jobs for people who have been underestimated or excluded from the mainstream economy. It partners with Project HOME, Youth Sentencing and Reentry Project, and the Mural Arts Restorative Justice Program to meet employees who are overcoming homelessness or returning home from incarceration. Down North Pizza shares that social mission, and will be joining Triple Bottom on Friday, September 15, to sling pies out of Triple Bottom’s kitchen.

This action-packed anniversary week is just a preview of a longer-term relationship between Kampar Kitchen and Triple Bottom Brewing. Hart and Branca are working on a new chef residency program that will enable Kampar Kitchen chefs to take over the brewery’s kitchen for a month at a time to develop their menus and practice working in a large-scale restaurant setting, under Branca’s mentorship. This new partnership plans to launch before the end of the year.

Triple Bottom’s anniversary events can be found at their website (https://triplebottombrewing.com/taproom-events). Some days do require tickets, which can be purchased in advance or at the door. In addition to over 10 styles of craft beer brewed on site, each anniversary night will feature a special cocktail or slushy to pair with the guest chef’s cuisine. The full list of events is below:
