The Block Gives Back is a non-profit organization in Northeast Philadelphia. They host an event every Saturday, where they’re always giving out FREE food, and having an amazing time. On Saturday, July 22nd, they are hosting their annual Peace & Play Day event at Tarken Playground. It will be from 11AM – 4:30PM, on 6250 Frontenac St. Phila, PA 19111. There’s going to be delicious food, refreshing beverages, fun games, special guest performances, and so much MORE! The best part? It’s all for free!
This event is in partnership with City Wide Mental Health, a mental health clinic in the Kensington area. In a city with so much gun violence, both of the organizations’ goal is to make Philadelphia’s Park & Recreation centers a safer place for our children to play. City Wide will be hosting a “Stop The Violence” basketball tournament, featuring a team of the Philadelphia Police Department’s finest. Come together for this amazing community event, and join in on the fun!
