The Mann Center’s Movie and Live Orchestra Series is Back This Summer With a Classic Lineup
Each summer The Mann Center screens movies but these movies aren’t your typical screenings. Every movie is accompanied by a live orchestra that plays the score throughout the entirety of the flick, so it’s essentially two performances in one.
This year The Mann announced that they will be screening three movies with iconic soundtracks. The series will kick-off with June 24th with Star Wars: The Force Awakens featuring The Philadelphia Orchestra. Then on July 22nd get ready for dinosaurs to take over the pavilion with Jurassic Park featuring The Philadelphia Orchestra. Last but not least, Philly’s own Rocky will close out the series on September 14th featuring the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
When it comes to soundtracks that you grew up on, you’d be hard pressed to find a better lineup. The best part is that guests are able to bring their own blankets, food and drinks for the ultimate movie and picnic experience. For those that do not feel like packing, there’s an option to purchase a pre-made picnic basket by Di Burno Bros. Tickets for seating range from $25 -$65 and are available at manncenter.org.
