The 76ers Want to Ballout Literally, With a Helipad at the New Practice Facility
You may remember our story regarding the 76ers new Camden practice facility. If not you can get up to speed here. As a quick recap the 6ers struck a deal with Jersey officials to move their practice facility from PCOM to Camden, NJ. The incentive is obviously money as the 6ers will be given huge tax breaks upwards of $80 million dollars.
The new practice facility will employ about 250 people and the building itself will be state of the art. However, it looks like the money being saved on the tax breaks will be spent to make the facility ballerific as word is circulating that the new practice facility will boast a helipad.
Looks like execs and top players will be avoiding toll bridges and traffic all together if helicopters will be flying in and out of their new waterfront digs. In addition to the helipad, the practice facility will also include 4,000-square-foot sign with letters up to 9 feet high on the 3-story building that will house team execs and employees while 1,000-square-foot sign will be placed on the actual practice facility. Construction was slated to begin in October, no word yet on the actual completion date.
