10th Annual West Philly Porchfest Returns With 400+ Free Performances Across 190+ Neighborhood Porches

One of Philadelphia’s most beloved community-driven music festivals is celebrating a major milestone this spring as West Philly Porchfest returns for its 10th annual edition on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The do-it-yourself music festival transforms West Philadelphia into a sprawling neighborhood concert venue, with hundreds of free performances taking place on porches, stoops, lawns, and sidewalks throughout the community.

Completely free and open to the public, Porchfest invites residents to host performances while musicians of all genres perform throughout the day. For an interactive map and schedule visit westphillyporchfest.com.

Created by and for West Philadelphia residents, West Philly Porchfest was founded in 2016 by five neighbors inspired by the Porchfest movement that began in Ithaca, New York.

What started with 75 acts across 30 porches during its inaugural year has since exploded into one of the city’s largest grassroots arts events.

This year’s festival is expected to feature:

  • More than 400 free performances
  • Over 190 resident-hosted porches
  • Musicians spanning countless genres and styles
  • Community gatherings across the neighborhood

The event’s mission is centered around building and celebrating community through live music while showcasing the cultural diversity that defines West Philadelphia.

Unlike traditional music festivals, Porchfest is entirely community-powered. Residents volunteer their porches as stages, while performers range from professional musicians and neighborhood bands to experimental artists, students, jazz ensembles, punk groups, folk singers, DJs, and more.

The result is a choose-your-own-adventure experience where attendees can spend the afternoon wandering block to block discovering live performances throughout the neighborhood.

Organizers say the event is ultimately about connection and accessibility.

“West Philly Porchfest seeks to represent and celebrate the community’s broad musical and cultural diversity,” organizers shared.

Since its launch, the festival has steadily expanded year after year:

  • 2016: 75 acts on 30 porches
  • 2019: 175+ acts on nearly 100 porches
  • 2026: 400+ performances on 190+ porches

The growth reflects both the popularity of the event and the strong community participation that continues to define Porchfest’s identity.
