The 5 Best Ways To Celebrate National Cheesesteak Day

Ask anyone you meet to tell you three things they know about Philly and odds are that almost all of those people would mention cheesesteaks. I’m guessing the Liberty Bell and Rocky would also make the list but you can’t eat those. As much as we all love the cheesesteak, did you know that the City of Brotherly Love’s beloved sandwich, had it’s own national holiday? March 24th is National Cheesesteak Day, so check out the top 5 ways to celebrate!!!

Geno’s Steaks (1219 S 9th St) is celebrating National Cheesesteak Day with a Twitter Scavenger hunt! Follow them on Twitter (@genossteaks) for your chance to win an official Geno’s Steaks swag bag from Geno himself! A limited number of prize pack are available, so follow the clues closely to see if you can figure out where Geno is to claim your prize.

Joe’s Steaks + Soda Shop (6030 Torresdale Ave) is celebrating National Cheesesteak Day by offering its Facebook fans a large cheesesteak for $7 on Friday if they share the shop’s Facebook post. You must show the share when placing order to get the deal. There is a limit of one special per person.

Old City’s The Little Lion (243 Chestnut St) is serving their upscale take on this Philly favorite and a side of fries for $10 all day (normally $15). Their version is topped with Wild Mushrooms, Caramelized Onions, Horseradish Cream and Sharp Cheddar.

Celebrate National Cheesesteak Day by doing something different. Famous for their unique take on classic sandwiches, Nick’s Bar and Grille (16 S. 2nd St) is honoring Philly’s signature sandwich in their own way. Try their French Dip Cheesesteak with caramelized onions, shape provolone on a long roll with French onion jus to dip for $9.50. What’s a celebration without a beer? On Friday, each French Dip Cheesesteak comes with free Bud Lite draft when you mention National Cheesesteak Day!

Not a deal but it’s for a good cause…
Tony Luke’s is donating a portion of the proceeds from all #cheesesteaks sold on March 24th at all of their locations to the HollyRod Foundation, which supports programs that enrich the lives of people living with #autism.
